A wonderful birthday treat! ✨
•Went here for to get mg early morning birthday treat! I just had to show my ID and they gave me the rainbow bagel with the really delicious cream cheese!
•Perfect way to start my birthday!
•I also got their hot americano and it was very comforting on a post-snowstorm weather.
•Indoor dining space is limited but not a problem if you visit early.
•Staff are friendly and quick to serve.
•Definitely going back to try the savory bagels!

This place rocks, one of the best bagels I’ve had for sure!

Food: I got one bacon egg and cheese sandwich on everything bagel, and one strawberry cream cheese on french toast bagel. Both were extremely tasty, but I’ll give a special shoutout to the french toast bagel and strawberry cream cheese. they are quite generous with their cream cheese, and the bagel was baked perfectly – light, sweet, and chewy.

Service: No complaints here. Got my food quickly and only waited 5 mins or so, even after waiting in line for 10 mins.

Atmosphere: Super fun vibes! This is the epidemy of an NYC bagel shop. Always busy, long lines that move quickly, limited seating, noisy, and fast-paced.

Staff were friendly, place was clean and sufficient, and most importantly bagels were delicious. I took their bacon egg and cheese with scallion cream cheese and it was filling and very tasty. Total came out to a little over 15 dollars included with tip. However, I highly recommend!

Liberty Bagels 5th Ave serves up classic New York bagels that are hand-rolled, freshly boiled and baked, with a delicious variety of spreads and sandwiches that keep both tourists and locals coming back for more. Despite the often long line, the quick service and flavorful breakfast options make it worth the stop before exploring Midtown Manhattan.

We went earlier on a Saturday morning and it wasn’t too busy; there were plenty of places to sit and almost no line. They have a lot of options for bagels, cream cheese, and sandwiches. I got the bacon egg and cheese on an everything bagel and it came out hot and fresh fairly quickly. The bagels are maybe not the best in nyc but still delicious.

A great albeit extremely busy bagel place in NYC. This place is usually disparaged as a tourist trap, but I tend to like tourist traps and this place is worth it in my opinion. They have a wide selection of bagels and cream cheeses that you rarely see outside the city. I got the Novie which is their take on a lox bagel. It was very good and well portioned. Just make sure you get napkins there because they do not put them in the bag which is tragic considering how messy the sandwich is with the healthy amounts of cream cheese they put in it. Even though the place is a madhouse, the staff do a good job of keeping the line moving and bringing the orders out quickly, So you will not be waiting an extraordinary amount of time. This is definitely a must-stop if you want a quality NYC bagel sandwich.

I’ve had my fair share of bagels in New York City, but Liberty Bagels is operating on a completely different level. I stopped in for a classic Everything Bagel with plain cream cheese, and it was easily one of the best breakfast decisions I’ve made in a long time.
First, the bagel itself is a masterpiece. It’s huge, hand-rolled, and kettle-boiled, which gives it that essential, distinctively shiny and crispy crust that snaps when you bite into it. The inside is perfectly doughy and chewy without being heavy or dense—just the right amount of fluffiness. But the real game-changer is the seasoning. A lot of places skimp on the toppings, but Liberty loads their Everything Bagels with a dense coating of poppy seeds, sesame seeds, onion, garlic, and salt on both sides. You get that savory crunch in literally every single bite.

Then there is the cream cheese. They do not hold back on the “schmear” here. It was incredibly fresh, thick, and tangy, perfectly balancing the salty, garlicky punch of the bagel. The ratio of bagel to cream cheese was generous, exactly how a real NYC bagel should be served.

The shop itself has a great energy. It’s busy and bustling, which is usually a good sign, but the line moves surprisingly fast thanks to the efficient staff. Even with the crowd, the service was friendly and on point. If you are looking for the quintessential New York bagel experience, do not skip this place. It is absolutely worth the hype and the wait. I’m already planning my next trip back!

Very disappointed. Both of the bagels were WAY too salty.

There aren’t enough chairs for the number of places available. There are tables for four people with only two chairs, or sometimes even just one. Even when everyone is seated, there are empty spaces at the tables that could use a chair. It’s a shame.

I’m from Chicago…..when I visit NYC, bagels are a must! Liberty bagels are so good. I will crave them when I’m gone. This particular location has superb service. And the manager is so kind; he carried a girl in a wheelchair up and down the steps to the store. So it’s just all around my favorite bagel spot.

First trip to Liberty Bagels and the bagels are fresh and perfect! Service is fast. There was no line but I guess it’s off season for the city. I didn’t mind only having to wait 5 mins for my order. Definitely recommend. Went back and got 4 more to take home with me. Wish I could have tried them all. I’ll be back next time I am in town!
