Debated whether or not to write, but food was really so disappointing we couldn’t understand other reviews. Arancini came out cold and stuffing under done. Margherita pizza was…well not sure what to call it (chewy cracker base…Heavily drizzled with sweet balsamic..) should have dug deeper in reviews it’s exactly like what the other low ratings said 🙁 pasta salad and meatballs were all right. They really shouldn’t make seating out of the hallway – very tight and uncomfortable (we were constantly bumped with traffic in and out of kitchen and in and out of restaurant). Live music sounds lovely, but only if you’re offered to actually sit in the dining room (we were not, so felt more like outsiders missing out).
Overall sad to say we can’t really recommend it.

We finally had a chance to dine at Lias we started with drinks and a wonderful charcuterie plate and bruschetta both were excellent, My Lasagna was exceptional the Flavors was a Tastebud delight. I’m looking forward to returning in the evening where they have live music Looking forward to our next visit. Highly recommend!!

Lia’s Bella Cucina is hands-down one of our favorite restaurants anywhere. Lisa and Maria always greet us warmly and genuinely care that every visit is perfect—they make you feel like family.
The lasagna is the best I’ve ever had, and every dish and drink is consistently excellent. Service is charming and personal, and the atmosphere strikes the perfect balance between lively and cozy, especially with the great live music.
We tried the heated patio igloo tonight and it was an amazing, unique experience. Incredible food, wonderful people, and a place we’ll keep coming back to again and again.

We finally had the chance to experience Igloo dining at Lia’s and it was great. We could see what was going on around us but there was no wind. They had light, quiet music playing in the background that created a beautiful vibe.
Sara was amazing. She was training someone and doing a great job because the person she was training was also doing a really good job.
We love Lia’s because they have local music, great food, and the most professional staff. It’s so good to be able to get great Italian food and not have to go all the way to Chicago!

Bella Cucina in downtown Chesterton is a charming and intimate dining spot that feels more like visiting a friend’s home than a traditional restaurant. Nestled inside a cozy converted house, the atmosphere is warm and inviting, making it the perfect place for a relaxed meal. They were featuring some live music as well which was a nice surprise.
The food was fresh and beautifully prepared, and the prices were reasonable for the quality. What truly stood out, though, was the impeccable service—the staff was incredibly attentive and made the experience even more enjoyable. While every dish we tried was excellent, the carrot cake stole the show. It was the perfect ending to an already delightful meal.
We’ll definitely be returning to Bella Cucina. With its combination of great food, excellent prices, and outstanding service, it’s a true hidden gem in Chesterton.

My husband and I come here often. We love the food, the service and the quiet cozy atmosphere. Tonight we were able to experience their new heated igloos on their patio. We love that they think outside the box and offered something that no other Chesterton restaurant offers and as usual the food was amazing, the staff treats you and each other like family. If you haven’t had a chance to try them, please, please do it!. Absolutely our favorite place to go on our date nights and family nights.

Stopped by here before a class, looking for a quick bite. What a pleasant surprise. The place is adorable, the staff were SO friendly and the food was amazing. I had a salad, lasagna soup and the arancini. Oh, and a limoncello spritz!! The croutons were fresh and clearly made in house. The limoncello is made in house. The lasagna soup was so good I almost licked the bowl! I will be going back here for sure.

A quaint lil place with very friendly staff and great food. Our meal was delicious. We chose to sit inside where very few others were, which also gave us an opportunity to interact with many of the sweet staff. We asked for them to just leave the water pitcher at our table so they wouldn’t have to worry about filling our glasses so much. They left it, but they still remained very attentive to us, even stopping to fill those water glasses with a smile. Thank you for a lovely evening.

The outside igloos are BEAUTIFUL! Wonderful food, staff, ESPECIALLY SARA, and atmosphere! It’s a wonderful place to invite a few friends out for a drink, or just for an afternoon fine!
