The portions were satisfying, and the menu offered a nice variety of options. We especially appreciated the quality and taste of the dishes. You can tell that care goes into the food and the overall experience.
There was a bit of a line when we arrived, so we had to wait for a while, but it was definitely worth it. Once we were inside, the service was smooth and efficient. A nice bonus is that the drinks are refillable, which is always appreciated.
Overall, it’s a very good place with great food, a pleasant atmosphere, and good value. We would happily come back again. I definitely recommend this place if you’re looking for a tasty meal in a cozy setting.
EXPERIENCE> It’s like a square dance get in line then step up to meet your partner – a handsome Meat Cutter. Since it was my first time at the rodeo he so kindly offered me a taste of the brisket and it almost knocked my socks off! Order your meal, sides – they give you a butcher paper plate ️ (that’s fancy Texan china ) and you pay at the register and then take a seat. Take this time to go get your drinks and get a few sauces . I like to mix and match
FOOD> I split half a brisket and half a pork sandwich I think the brisket was best. There was a GENEROUS amount of the most fall apart melt in your mouth perfectly seasoned bbq on the sandwich too The pork was amazing also but I found myself putting a fair amount of my custom sauce concoction on it as it paled in comparison to the mind blowing brisket!!!!!
I had the cornbread side which was delicious – a touch of sweetness and very creamy with a dash of heat The tea was perfectly brewed and as sweet as a ray of sunshine in June
ATMOSPHERE> This is a veritable wonderland. Like a good old fashioned cook out in a barn on a ranch. If I had land this would be my dream outdoor space with a nice bar, rustic decor, big screen tvs, green space for corn hole and pic nic tables outside! This is perfect for dates, families, groups – you name it
Check out the cool merch and bottled BBQ sauce which would make a nice gift for the man in your life
LOCATION> This is where our beloved Tommy’s Ham House used to be…so right outside town. Easy to get to from Pleasantburg, 385, Travelers Rest, or 385
VALUE> The sandwiches were only ~$14 in Fall 2025 so pretty reasonable
If your lucky there may be a small line to get in.
I’ve seen it out the door before!
On my particular visit, I just beat the crowd! Maby like six people in line.
I ordered the brisket sandwich and it comes with one additional meat. I chose the hot guts sausage. Corn casserole (I think) as the side.
Also 1 lb of brisket to take home. I didn’t get a picture of the brisket though. And yes it was delicious!
The brisket sandwich needed no sauce. And the sausage was wonderful! I could order that by itself!
I’m looking forward to visiting again and you should too.
Just come hungry!
It’s newer than the Charleston location, and the place is huge with plenty of parking. The brisket is smoky and tender, the pulled pork is delicious, and the sides are just as good — especially the mac and cheese. The atmosphere is open and relaxed, perfect for enjoying great barbecue with friends.
Definitely one of the best BBQ spots in town!
We had lean brisket, hot sausage, and pork ribs.
Everything was smoked to perfection. The brisket was beautiful. The ribs pulled clean off the bone, perfect moisture retention, not mushy and not dry. Just perfect.
The hot sausage is amazing. Its spicy, its not melt your face but it let’s you know its got some kick.
Sides: Mac and cheese is among the best I think we’ve ever had at any BBQ joint.
Collard green- we prefer spicy, and these are sweet, but they are still cooked perfect and quite good. We did add the green chillies sauce and absolutely l9ved the combination.
This place easily competes with Rudy’s, and if they existed in the same market it would be an absolute battle.
Service was friendly and efficient. Despite a good Saturday lunch rush line it only took a few minutes.
Highly recommend.
