This place is amazing. It’s a gem hidden away in Bunn — we have 5 kids and have taken our family here twice now. Better BBQ than I’ve had in popular places in Durham.
The owners are extremely kind and hospitable as well. Great people and great atmosphere (deceiving large dining area as well). Also VERY clean.
We will come back again and again.

While passing through town, I came across Levy’s Soul Food Cafe and decided to stop by—and I’m so glad I did! From the moment I walked in, the warm greeting and spotless, inviting atmosphere made me feel right at home.
I ordered the Chicken & Dumplings, and it was everything you want in a comforting dish—hearty and creamy, with tender chicken and perfectly cooked dumplings that balanced the dish. On the side, I had the Mac & Cheese, which was rich without being overly cheesy, just the right amount of creaminess that didn’t overwhelm the palate. But the standout for me were the Green Beans—easily the best I’ve ever had. I’m not sure what they used to season them, but the flavor was out of this world, adding a fresh, savory punch to every bite.
I also ordered their Sweet Tea, which was just right—not too sweet, but still really refreshing.
The owner, Levy, even stopped by to chat, and he was super friendly. His warmth and genuine southern hospitality made the whole experience even better. Levy’s Soul Food Cafe gets 5 stars all-around, and I can’t wait to come back for more.

My husband and I like how flavorful the food is here.. I ordered the tender juicy Tri tip
steak, sweet potatoes and collard greens and my husband ordered the ribs, coleslaw and mashed potatoes. Everything was yummy tasting! The owner walked around and asked if everything was good and introduced himself, very nice man, we talked for a bit. All staff were very nice. They were going to have a live saxophone player play there end of month in the evening. I thought that was cool. They serve beer and wine also. We went back a few weeks later, I wanted more tri tip but the restaurant did not serve the tri tip that day. I understand its a hit and miss for the tri tips. I’ll call first next time. Everything they serve here is so tender and tasteful. Definitely recommend!

Moved to Zebulon and decided to try Levy’s tonight. Upon entering, we were warmly greeted by the owner, Levy, a retired Marine Vet whose friendly demeanor immediately made us feel at home. His sweet wife and the kind employees further enhanced the welcoming atmosphere.

Wow! Just Wow! Everything was delish with loads of flavor! My Hubby was in Soul Food Heaven! Pork chop was honestly the best I ever had in a restaurant! Thick, juicy and seasoned just right! The restaurant is huge! Lots of TVS around with subtitles. Great music playing to set the family owned small buisness’s atmosphere. They just started doing online orders, so please be patient with them if you don’t order from them. Their system didn’t register my order until I showed up, they made it for me, threw in a piece of cake, and I was leaving. Worth the wait! Their food really has the taste of homemade and soul!

Delicious! My husband and I were greeted by Levy himself, the (veteran) owner of this wonderful establishment. He walked us through our choices and even let my husband have a sample. We chose brisket, yams, green beans, mac and cheese, chocolate cake, hush puppies…everything was flavorful and the portions were generous. Everyone working there is welcoming and polite. We loved the veteran photo wall as well. We will be back. Thank you Levy!

We had such a great experience eating here! The owners were extremely nice and we felt like we were a part of family. We all decided to have fish, flounder and whiting and the flounder was the move with the old bay seasoning! The sides were good. My wife had the yams and 7 cheese mac while I had fries and green beans. All were fresh and flavored like our family gatherings!! I loved the concept of the family portraits in the seating area that told the family history through pictures. We will be back soon❤️
