LeTour, Amy Morton’s neighborhood eatery in downtown Evanston is all about being local. From our buzzy vibe, to our covered outside courtyard and Rose room bar and lounge, LeTour is relaxed and the food great. Hospitality and being good stewards to our team and our environment are our priorities.

My friend Mila recommended me LeTour couple of times, and we were finally able to go for dinner for my birthday. The place is incredibly beautiful, clean, and warm; it feels peaceful. The service was great, the food is unbelievably fresh. Everything was extremely delicious and tasty. We ordered a Caesar salad as a starter, then for the main course a Manhattan cut and chicken tagine, and afterwards we ordered a chocolate mousse. Everything was divine. We also ordered wine and cocktails, all exquisite. I have no complaints; I’ve already told my friends that they need to visit Letour. Everything was amazing—thank you for this wonderful experience.

First time here, was my belated mother’s Day dinner. The interior and exterior of this restaurant was very nice, but the tables are on top of each other, didn’t like that we were so close to other diners, literally no privacy, tables were about two feet away from each other. Now the dinner, underwhelming to say the least, firstly I orded the demi baguette which came out in a small white paper bag on a plate, when I took the bread out of the bag, the top of the baguette was hot and oddly enough the bottom was cold and wondered if it sat under a heat lamp, either way the bread did not taste fresh and was overly chewy, and hard to bite. I order d the steak fries and my son had the roasted chicken breast and both dishes were very bland no flavor whatsoever. My steak was half tender and the other half very chewy,- weird. The fries were better than the steak which tasted of nothing.. disappointed. My son’s chicken, although his chicken was perfectly cooked tender and juicy, it also was flavorless, roasted chicken over a bit of broth, some leeks, and literally just tasted like an under seasoned chicken soup nothing more. Although both meals had a decent presentation, that was the best thing about our meals. we also decided to try a desert hoping that would save the day, but needless to say, it didn’t. We tried the butterscotch crumble, I believe, I can’t remember the name, nonetheless it didn’t taste like butterscotch at all, tasted like a crumbly graham cracker concoction which was just ok. We had two no alcohol cocktails, which were meh at best. Either way I felt this place is definitely way over priced for the dinner we had, nothing special, 182.00, before tip was a bit too much for what it was and what we got. We don’t mind paying for good food and expect to pay especially if the dinner is worth it but this place is not. Definitely will not be back again.

Steps away of what could be a great experience. The food is decent—well-prepared —but I was hoping for something a bit more distinctive or memorable with intense flavor. The restaurant itself is beautiful, but it didn’t quite capture the Moroccan or French ambiance I was expecting. And the music? It felt oddly out of place (Sinatra and Beyonce)- should be more of a La Vie En Rose venue…. so the vibe felt a bit disjointed. Still, with a few tweaks, this place has the potential to improve. Maybe live music?

Food here is incredibly delicious and the ambiance extremely relaxing and spacious.
The service here is attentive and all the staff makes sure you have enough water and constantly checks in on their guests in case you need to order more food.
The burger here was incredibly delicious but fries aren’t included so if you love a side of fries you will receive a very generous portion.
I visited a second time just to experience their Happy Hour and most of the appetizers and side orders are heavily discounted so you can try a little of everything from salad to pate, to cheese plates and other tempting plates.
.
The lighting in the main dining areas are very dim so it’s hard to take good photos but I’ve included pictures in this review.
I look forward to future visits!

Evanston has been a challenging city for a good restaurant. So it’s been very comforting to see LeTour not only stay open but strive elegantly. We love bringing our friends and family here. It’s our go to place for happy hour dates and more. The food is amazing, although it would be nice to see some seasonal changes to the menu. The ambiance with French music and beautiful decor is lovely. We just attended their Beaujolais happy hour and were so happy to see the place packed! One less star for service (just this time) as our server was less than attentive to us and kept bringing us check with wrong charges.

It’s French Moroccan cuisine. The cheese plate is divine; the cheese selections change – we had a blue cheese, a smoky cheddar, and another creamy cheese. The portions were enough for a party of three. The tagine of chicken and couscous was delicious; the hot sauce on the side was too hot! The steak frites was savory. The mussels should have been my favorite; however, many were so small, I didn’t eat them, and four shells weren’t even open. I was disappointed. We ordered a side of roasted carrots; they were not “lovely” as the menu suggests. Some were too hard to bite, and a few were mushy. They have a varied selection of desserts. We shared the roasted pear; it too was tasty. The restaurant decor doesn’t suggest France or Morocco; the seating is too close together. Prices are high; however, that is an issue because of the current economy. I would go back to order the chicken again. The service was average.

Overall ambiance was great for cocktails. Dishes are overrated lacking detail. My favorite was Tagine Chicken. The couscous lamb was not tender(over cooked), The fish still has a piece of scale in it (informed our waitress, just a ohh response from her), Red watercress was the dish I don’t get with no flavor and poorly presented. The toasted bread with the Duck Liver Mousse was unbreakable. Waitress’s service could be more friendly and attentive!

✨ A Memorable Evening with Beautiful Ambiance and Warm Service ✨
We recently celebrated my sister’s wedding reception at this restaurant, and while the food didn’t quite steal the show, the overall experience was still lovely and worth sharing.
Our group of 14 was seated in a private room—intimate and cozy, though not quite as polished as the rest of the beautifully decorated space. It felt like the room was still mid-design, with some unfinished touches, but it did allow for a more personal gathering. That said, you could still hear the buzz from the main dining area, which is pretty standard in a lively spot.
We started with a round of appetizers: charcuterie, toasted baguettes with assorted toppings, and a comforting butternut squash soup. Paired with both alcoholic and non-alcoholic bubbly (the cava was especially delightful), it set a festive tone. The salads were fresh and enjoyable, but the main courses lacked seasoning and didn’t quite hit the mark.
Then came dessert—and redemption! The carrot wedding cake with dried fruits and cream cheese filling was absolutely divine. Truly the highlight of the meal.
What really made the evening special was the staff. Our main server was attentive, kind, and incredibly on top of things, making sure everything ran smoothly. The bathrooms were also clean and thoughtfully designed (a small detail, but one I always appreciate!). And don’t miss the stunning street art mural at the entrance—it’s a great photo op and adds to the charm.
If you’re looking for a spot with great ambiance, friendly service, and a solid drink and dessert game, this is a lovely choice—especially for a celebratory night out or a cozy catch-up over cava and cake.

Great atmosphere and decor. Good service. But food quality is inconsistent and sometimes disappointing. We ordered lamb from the taste menu, it has so much fat and connected tissues making it hard to chew. We end up throw away 1/3 of the meat.

We had an anniversary dinner on the terrace and it was magical. The food was delightful, the staff were very good, and they brought us champagne and a yummy dessert with a sparkler for our anniversary. Would definitely recommend. We will be back!
