The good: the staff is incredibly nice, attentive. Our bottomless coffees never ran dry. My friend got stung by a bee and the waitress made a cornstarch slurry and got her a bag of ice and the owner checked in on us. The menu is elegant/creative and dishes full of fresh, vibrant choices. Cute quiet spot to meet for a light brunch.
The bad: My dish was served burnt – charred, not how I want to describe anything bread-like. I can’t believe I was served this for the price I paid. Portions on the small side.

The staff is amazingly friendly, they were excellent with my dog on the patio and brought him a water bowl. They are always so warm and welcoming. The food is very unique and approachable. I had a wonderful biscuit and gravy dish with fresh seasonal mushrooms that was amazing. The mussels on Fridays are always perfect. The wine list is small but perfectly selected and their belgian hot chocolate with espresso is the perfect drink to work with or start a weekend. The ambience is euro country charm. Love this place!

Best damn cup of black coffee around and you can buy their beans! I now make the perfect French press coffee at home and it’s like I’m there (almost). Atmosphere is delightful, staff are super friendly and wonderful with our toddler. The food never disappoints; delicious, proper un-American portions, fresh, local, and rich. We’ve only been here for breakfast. The wait can be long at times and the food pricey, but it’s worth it for the caliber of fresh food and like I said, it’s nice to spend time chatting over quality coffee in a fun atmosphere with excellent staff. Unplug yourself and be present in the moment here!

We love this place. We try to bring all our out-of-town visitors here. We’ve only gone for brunch, but look forward to trying a dinner. The coffee: divine. I always make sure to get some to use in my French press at home. The Belgian chocolate brownie: YES. Every time yes. We love their back patio (weather-permitting). It’s *well* worth the drive from the Cities.

We come here whenever we’re hankering for fabulous, locally sourced food. Everything we’ve had is wonderful. I tend to get the Eggs Benedict, which is always surprisingly delightful, and their rotating menu means it’s usually a slightly different variation each time we visit. The staff seems to love kids; they always give our 2-year-old a little extra attention. It is a small place, and beware the Sunday morning after-church rush. Can’t say enough good things about this restaurant!

Excellent food. Belgian is hard to find in the Cities but this in Bayport is great. We had bison, mussels, rabbit and spinach and mushroom tart. All were well prepared and reasonably portioned. The creme brulee was excellent. They also have espresso. The lentil soup was very good.

This place is good, but I wanted to like it more.
Food is really good and satisfying , beer selection is okay. Prices are a tad high, but not unreasonable.
Seating is pretty limited, but it’s got that local lunch counter feel to it that’s part of the charm. Patio is nice on a mild day.

Nice curb appeal and average food, but you will pay twice the price with half the service. The place was empty and we still waited 5 minutes to be seated, then we had to ask them to wipe our dirty table. Coffee cups stood empty for 10 minutes, and the lettuce in my salad looked like it had been sitting out for 2 days. Not just a cafe down the street is far superior in all facets.

I have been going to this place for over a year steady, spent well over 1,000 dollars there, buying wine, beer and food.
The food is great, the chef is awesome, the owners are amazing, and the atmosphere is pleasant.
So why the one star? I am an Iraq Veteran who served in Iraq in 2004-2005. I enjoy talking to people and sharing things that I research and investigate.
Today I was thrown out of the restaurant by the Manager.
What happened?
I was sharing information with a fellow customer that I have spoken to in the past. All of the sudden the manager came up to me and said in a aggressive tone, “can’t you see she is studying?” I was confused by this since it seemed to me that the customer was interesting in our conversation as she was asking questions.
I said to the manager, “if she doesn’t have time to talk, she could tell me that’s fine” and the customer responded “no, I am fine” acting confused as well to the mangers all of sudden interjection to our conversation.
Then the manger said “I am telling you to stop.”
I said “well I will just leave then.”
Then the manager waved her hand in my face and said “bye bye.”
She then repeated this and said “bye bye” as she waived her hand in my face.
So I left and will not be returning. Side note, when the door was closing as I am walking out I hear the lady that I was speaking with say “NO don’t make him leave”. So, the manager just kicked me out and asked me to stop talking to another customer who consented in the conversation. This is by far the weirdest encounter I have ever had at a restaurant. What makes it even more stranger is how many times I have been there, which feels like at least fifty times.
After being one of the most consistent customers for over a year, an Iraq vet who was in multiple IED explosion attacks, I was told to leave in a very disrespecting manner.
I would not recommend going to a place that 1. doesn’t support the first amendment of the constitution and free speech and freedom of expression, one of the rights that I fought for in Iraq.
2. Who doesn’t appreciate a patron that has spent well over 1,000 of dollars in their place of business, and even goes as far as to tell others how great the place is.
I would return being a patron if the manger situation gets taken care of.
This is my two cents. This happened today which is 2/15/2017.
I want to reiterate that the staff is amazing, the food is amazing, the chef is amazing, the atmosphere is amazing, the owners are amazing, the beer is amazing, the wine is amazing.

Just being tourists in Stillwater and needed a good brunch spot, so glad we landed here! Amazing food in a small/cozy atmosphere. Coffee was awesome too. Love the locally sourced menu.
