Lester’s Diner is the real deal – a classic South Florida institution since 1967 that delivers exactly what you want from a great diner: hearty portions, delicious food, and that welcoming retro vibe. We stopped by the Pompano location for a late breakfast, and everything was spot-on. The menu is massive, with all the classics – fluffy pancakes, crispy home fries, perfectly cooked eggs, and those legendary oversized coffee mugs that keep refilling like magic.
But what really took it to the next level was our server, Patti! She was an absolute superstar – friendly, attentive, quick with recommendations, and just genuinely warm. She remembered our order without missing a beat, checked in at the perfect times, and made us feel like regulars even though it was our first visit. Patti’s energy and smile turned a simple meal into a memorable experience. You can tell she loves what she does, and it shows in every interaction.
The food came out fast and hot, portions were generous (we left stuffed!), and the prices are super reasonable. Clean, comfortable booths, great atmosphere – it’s everything a diner should be. If you’re in the area, near the airport, or just craving classic American comfort food, head to Lester’s and ask for Patti if you can. She’s the cherry on top of an already fantastic spot!

We come here regularly and always have a great time. The food is really good, and the prices are fair. What makes this place special is the customer service—the staff is awesome.
The last couple of weekends, Zachary was our server and he was amazing: super friendly, attentive, and professional.

Ainhoa, Angelica and Juan were absolutely amazing. They were so patient with me and helping me order. Also, they made sure I was at the right restaurant to pick up my order or it would’ve been somewhere else. I’m not sure if this is a corporate office or someone owns this KFC but they should be recognized for their kindness.

Very jumping location parking was very tight full of ppl. We were seated quickly and a server came right over who was very nice and had an upbeat spirit. She quickly took our order and our food came out very quickly…. The portion of food was good for a breakfast meal we were very pleased with out whole experience we would definitely go back if we are in town again..

The restaurant and food are nice. But the sauce they used on the lamb shoulder overpowered the taste of the meat. There is no meat taste. The sauce is too dominant. I don’t think there is any need for the sauce. The same goes for the rice, the spices used are too heavy.

We have gone to this diner for years. Based on my experience on Friday we will not be going back. The kitchen sent me a very cold open roast beef sandwich. We had waited a long time to get it and I ate as much as I could of the very cold lunch. Then I tried to pay. Yes I was going to pay!! BUT the woman who was taking care of that was taking phone orders and running back & forth to the kitchen. The waitress serving us was fine but everything else failed. I do not need that. I won’t go back.

My server’s name Zach and everything was wonderful. if you like diners like I do, this is a good one if you get a chance, stop by and have something to eat.

My recent visit to Lester’s Diner in Pompano Beach, unfortunately, didn’t live up to the nostalgic expectations of a classic American diner.
I opted for the traditional turkey dinner, which was just okay. The turkey was tender but the gravy lacked much flavor. The mashed potatoes had an off sour taste, which was quite disappointing. The steamed broccoli was bland and flavorless, failing to add any real enjoyment to the meal.
My partner had the baked moussaka, which consists of potato, eggplant, signature ground beef, and tomato sauce, topped with béchamel and served with rice. Unfortunately, he didn’t love it. He found it to be kinda dry and lacking in flavor. The beets served on the side were fine but nothing special.
The service was okay but kinda slow considering what we ordered.
Overall, our experience at Lester’s Diner fell short of our expectations. The service was friendly and the portions were generous, but the flavors and quality of the food left much to be desired. Despite this, we will definitely be back to try it again.
