Enjoyed a lovely dinner here on our first night in Paris. We made the reservation the day prior. We chose Les Deux Magots for its historical significance and proximity to our hotel, and we weren’t disappointed! The food and service were excellent. Our waiter was friendly and made great recommendations. The creme brûlée was wonderful! We enjoyed the escargot, too. We ate on the warm terrace and had a lovely dinner here. Highly recommend!

The restaurant is great. The welcome was really lovely, and the waiters were very helpful and attentive. The place itself is cozy, and the overall atmosphere is especially nice during cold weather, which made the experience even better when I visited. I had the lobster pasta dish, which was full of flavor and perfectly balanced. For dessert, I chose the praline mille-feuille, amazing taste and texture, crispy in just the right way while still easy to cut without making a mess . I loved it. Definitely recommended if you’re looking for a high-quality meal in a classic Parisian setting.

Best place in Paris for a good meal, enjoying the sun and people watching! Even of you have to queue don’t hesitate, during a sunny day nothing beats the experience to sit outside (neighbor cafe is not the same!). Outstanding dishes: supreme (chicken with heavy cream sauce veggie and rice) and the profiteroles (cant go wrong with desserts), the beef carpaccio was also good. Best lunch plan in Paris specially during the week.

A legendary café nestled in the heart of Paris, was an experience that blended culinary delight with a deep dive into cultural history. Known as a popular tourist destination and a hub for intellectual and artistic gatherings since the early 20th century, this iconic spot has hosted luminaries like Jean-Paul Sartre, Simone de Beauvoir, and Ernest Hemingway. The café’s rich heritage is palpable in its elegant Art Deco interior.
As for the food, I was pleasantly surprised the flavors exceeded my expectations. While the prices were, as anticipated, on the higher side—reflecting its prime location and reputation—the quality justified the cost to some extent. The service was also commendable; the staff were attentive and courteous.
For anyone traveling to Paris, Les Deux Magots offers more than just a meal—it’s a journey through time. I’d recommend it for its historical charm and unexpectedly tasty offerings!

Fabulous Xmas eve dinner at this Paris landmark. Veal chop with morels was amazing as was the beef tartar and blanquette de veal. Thick hot chocolate on a cold night on the patio, the heaters worked great.

Service was amazing, even the bathroom attendant keeping everything impeccably clean. A bit touristy, but a great experience. Very short wait for 3 people with no reservations. Recommend to get there just before dinner when the stop serving drinks only.

Had breakfast this morning at Les Deux Magots, a restaurant known to be frequented by the likes of Hemingway(they even have a Hemingway breakfast as a selection) and many notable French intellectuals.

Food was on the pricey side; a tea with a teabag costs 8€. My daughter ordered a bottle of pear juice that costs 11€. We (party of three) had Croque Madame(2x) and Croque Monsieur(1x), with a drink each the bill was more than a really great dinner in the area, over 100€. It was just a breakfast.

The seating is very tight to the point of unable to get in or out of your table without bumping into your neighbors. While the food and service were good I don’t think the food was that good to justify the price. If seating was less cramped it would be better.

We were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food and service. We enjoyed a pate en croute (good) , warm goat cheese salad (very good) and tasty steak tar tar (excellent).

We would have liked to sit down, but due to the overwhelming number of smokers, we opted for a table inside.

Service was attentive.

We were glad to have had a nice experience at this landmark institution. Best to make a reservation.

Classic, Touristy, and Surprisingly Good

Is this place touristy? Yes.
Is it historical? Yes.
Is it fun? Absolutely.
Is it tasty? Also yes.

It’s one of those must-try-once spots in Paris, and honestly, the food was much better than I expected for such a touristy location. We started with two St. Germain spritzes—because, well, we were on St. Germain! Then came the foie gras pâté and steak tartare with frites, both of which were delicious. No worries here about sketchy raw beef—everything was fresh and well-prepared. Then we couldn’t resist getting a chocolate mousse after seeing our neighboring table digging in and ooohing and aaahing about it. 😀

Service was attentive and friendly, and everything was delicious!

Would I go back? Maybe—not as a destination restaurant, but definitely as a nice stop for drinks or snacks while shopping. And with Louis Vuitton right next door, it’s hard to resist a little post-retail pick-me-up.

Typical French style cafe but with a long history of serving famous people from Hemingway to Picasso. People frequent between Le Deux Magots and Cafe de Flore. This time round we came here because cafe de flore was full.

Food is decent but the creme brule blew us away. Staff was courteous and friendly !

Tonight we chose Les Deux Magots a Paris restaurant since 1884. We chose a Haut-Medoc wine to sip before dinner. Michael started with the warm goat cheese salad and I had a bite, it was very tasty. Michaels entree was the rib of Veal and I had filet of Beef with 5 berry pepper sauce and both were absolutely amazing. Michaels desert was tarte tatin and I had vanilla ice cream both were amazing. We both had a generous pour of 20 year port to finish the evening.
Our waiter and everyone was so polite that it made the evening a very relaxing and pleasurable experience. Bravo!
