We’ve been meaning to try this place for a while, I’m so glad we stopped in for dinner while my mom was visiting. They have some great vegetarian options and their grilled meat is perfect. The fried yucca with their homemade aoli goes perfect with any meal, the side of salad veggies was very nice, and the fried plantains were the best Ive ever had. Just really homey warm filling food. High quality ingrediantes and a really home-made feel. Highly recommend!

Delicious food and amazing service! We had the beef pastels, poulet braise with jollof rice, grilled lamb with plantain and sorrel juice. Everything was amazing, fresh and flavorful. We’ll be back!

Admittedly on a busy Saturday evening, but waited 50 minutes after ordering (at the front counter) to be served. Served us water, but no one ever asked what we wanted to drink. Then our sides had been mis-matched, so we switched them back ourselves. The chicken was OK but the lamb was two thin tough, bony grizzly pieces and one thicker piece, bloody inside. We had to get to a concert, so ate what we could. Plantain and couscous ok, “mixed vegetables” were chopped and cold in a plastic container. Not the quality we expected for this price level. It was very loud and cramped. And please fix those 2 tables’ legs so the tables stop rockin!

Absolutely loved this place!!! A gem of a restaurant that everyone should try. Started with yucca fries and fish beignets, AMAZING. They were so light, crunchy and full of flavor. The goat was fall off the bone tender combined with the beans, jollof rice and tomato cucumber salad made the perfect meal. My friend ordered the lamb which was marinated and sautéed making it more crispy and chewy but still an unbelievable dish. I can’t wait to return with my family.

Great, cozy decor. The food was delicious – we started with akara, the black-eyed pea fritters, which were hot, fresh, and fluffy with a mild taste.

I had the Poulet Braise, and a bite of the fabulous and tender lamb. The chicken was bone-in, which is less usual for me but almost definitely more authentic. The spices were subtle but delicious, and the chicken was impeccably grilled: it tasted like the fire, without the meat losing any tenderness or moisture. I had the attieke as my side, because I know I like couscous but wanted to try it made from cassava. Absolutely fantastic, and paired really well with the chicken.

We had the ginger juice, which was lovely, and the tea, which was a bit like Yaupon and earthy so something you definitely need to be in the mood for.

We also went in on a slammed Saturday night, when they were already short staffed, and the service was still great.

Food was great, atmosphere was warm and inviting. Saw so many beautiful black people in there I forgot where I was for a second. You can tell the food was made with love but they’re definitely controlling the spice level which makes sense for Madison area. I do wish the lamb was a little less chewy. There is a discrepancy between the main menu and the online menu. One says bone in and one says boneless only for the lamb. Overall pretty good.

This was a very great African food restaurant, I love the hibiscus juice, and the aroma in the air is amazing. I would highly recommend dining in here. But save me a seat haha. The Jollof rice ‍ there are so many options I have to go back for more. Portions are great, everything great!

So good! Lots of unique flavors and dishes. Textures are so on point with the breaded dishes. Don’t sleep on the fish beignets or the yucca ! The ginger juice is legit and has that spicy note like it should

I absolutely loved this restaurant when I went there in person. 5 stars. I got it from Uber Eats tonight and I was disappointed. The lamb was tough (very chewy and not the type of lamb I ordered), the chicken and beef were dry. The fried yuca didn’t come with their amazing sauce. Don’t make the mistake I did. Go in person and you won’t be disappointed! I hate having to give them 4 stars because when I went in person it was beyond amazing. Lesson learned… try it and go in person!!

The restaurant looks cool and the Suya Lamb and fried plantains were delicious. Also the staff seemed nice and I got there right when it opened so I had no problem placing my order or getting it in a timely manner.

What I didn’t think it was so great was the change in menu and what appears to be an elimination of the 2 side dishes that were supposed to come with every entree.

I had to pay for the only side I got and because they didn’t have Lamb with bone in you couldn’t get a lamb dish without paying an extra $2 for boneless which did not seem fair.

I hope they work things out so it’s more clear when you get there exactly what you’re paying for, and I would suggest reconsidering cutting out the sides with the entrees.
