We had a wonderful dining experience at this Italian restaurant during our Christmas trip. The dishes were served warm, absolutely delicious, and generously portioned, made with fresh, healthy ingredients. The authentic Italian décor, complete with beautiful paintings and soft background music, created a cozy and elegant atmosphere.
The service was excellent—attentive without being intrusive—and truly elevated the experience. The owner was especially courteous and took the time to check in with us to ensure everything met our expectations.
I highly encourage anyone who appreciates fine dining and authentic Italian cuisine to give this place a try. You won’t be disappointed!

Stopped in on a Friday night and had excellent service and wonderful food. Not a long wait for the food and servers were very attentive. Definitely real Italian food! Don’t go expecting Olive Garden. We will definitely go back. We split a small plate and each got an entree. Even took some food home. Next time we will try the desserts!

Our meal was delicious and portions were perfect. My husband and Ishared an appetizer, salad and 2 entries plus a dessert. Oh and I had a glass of wine. The whole meal was about $100 which we felt was a wonderful price. Service was on point. Very attentive staff. The atmosphere was a bit to dark for me, as the lighting made it hard to see the menu. A LED lamp on each table would fix that. We were very pleased and will definitely return. Looking forward to a full bar option when they get it..

We were served cold, doughy focaccia then waited over 30 minutes for 2 meals. There were only 4 tables seated when we walked in so they weren’t busy. My husband’s veggies came cold. My eggplant was burnt. The meals are very overpriced. Not a winner; very disappointing.

We went to give support to an new neighborhood establishment. Received complimentary glasses of wine due to liquor license not being secured yet. We were not happy with our very expensive meal. Appetizer and soup came out lukewarm. Our main meal was no better. Rack of lamb was under cooked and chewy. It was taken back to correct. Mash potato serving was just suffice for a toddler and there was no vegetable with the meals. All in all we spend approximately $140.00 only to walk out unsatisfied and still hungry. We truly hope they get better, plus nothing tasted like authentic Italian food.

This is a great Italian restaurant in the downtown of Spartanburg. The environment is clean and friendly, the food is excellent. I ordered the Ortona, the chicken is very tender with great flavor! Mr. Michael, the business owner is very nice and his staff provide great service too! I highly and strongly recommend this place for family and friends gatherings! You won’t regret the experience!

We scheduled a reservation at 7 pm for Valentines’s day over a month in advance. We were not acknowledged or greeted by a server until 7:40. Service was TERRIBLE and our server was extremely unprofessional once we were finally acknowledged. Food was very mediocre for the price. At the end of the night we were double charged for the drinks we had already ordered and paid for at the bar before being sat. Would NEVER recommend this place and will absolutely never be going back. This was a night I looked forward to for a month and it turned out to be one of the worst dining experiences I’ve ever had. Better to spend your money at a place like Sophia’s.
