Open for business since 1996, Leo’s Lodge Restaurant and Bar on Jolly Road at Dunckel will provide you with a taste of Northern Michigan without having to drive further than the Jolly Road exit off US-127. Just two miles from MSU, the Lodge’s up north cottage atmosphere is emphasized with knotty pine log walls dotted with deer trophies and other critters, a warm fireplace and heavy pine chairs and tables. I stopped here with a work colleague after not having visited for years. I’m glad to see that Leo’s Lodge is still the same and is still busy. It’s a cool place with a real hunting/UP vibe. The waitress was friendly and took our order fairly quickly, and it didn’t take long to get the food. I got the Houghton Hancock burger, which was absolutely delicious. Ham on a burger is a highly underrated topping. Even though the menu has changed a little over the years, I’m glad I can still get great food here so long after leaving the area. Leo’s is well worth a try.

Good portion sizes & the food is tasty. Personally, I really like the pepper jack crab soup. Our server was friendly and since the weather was just warming up a bit & I think they were just starting to use the covered patio area again, someone came out to make sure the temperature in the area was comfortable for everyone too – I felt like that was a nice thing that not everyone would think to do.

My family and I (8 people) went there on Saturday Dec. 27th. The Manager greeted us and made sure we had a large enough area to sit comfortably (we chose the enclosed patio). What a wonderful experience we had! Our waitress was Danielle and even though the area was busy, she was always pleasant and playing along with our humor. The food was fantastic as always!! As we were getting ready to leave, the Manager came out to make sure everything went well and to thank us for visiting. We were all full of compliments and teasing. He joined right in and we all left with huge smiles!!! Thank you for our wonderful memories!!!!

Great restaurant. It is mostly wood, and with the great number of taxidermy on the wall, it truly feels like a lodge atmosphere complete with fireplace. My friends and I only ate appetizers, including boneless wings, cheesebread, and pretzel bits. All of them were amazing in taste. Our waitress was fast and timely in every way. I will definitely be back sometime. Keep up the good work both in food and the great staff you have. Your effort speaks for itself.

Leo’s Lodge is easily one of the best spots in Lansing! The food is consistently great. Everything we’ve tried has been delicious.
What really sets this place apart is the atmosphere. The ‘Up North’ lodge theme, complete with the wood decor and the cozy fireplace, makes it such an inviting place to hang out with friends or family. Great food, cool vibes, and friendly service every time. Highly recommend!

Food was alright at best. I could’ve gotten something better down the street. Our server was slow and took her time not introducing herself and forgetting to bring us silverware or napkins. My dad had to wait an extra 15 minutes after we got our drinks initially for his. My bison burger was dry and lacked the flavor they advertised. On top of that the waitress had plenty of time to visit a boy nearby and talk with him plenty. Oh and the seats were uneven. I had to sit in the middle of the bench to not tip. I recommend you do NOT go here. Corey’s is much better.

We visited on a Sunday around 11, while in town for a soccer tournament. We were seated immediately. Server was friendly and very attentive. Food came out very quick. Pizza was Great!!

I ordered a Rueben and he ordered pizza we thought both were delicious. The staff were very friendly and on top of everything. Will definitely be back when we return to Lansing. It’s a very nice cabin feeling vibe.
