Passing through Danville we searched out some local cuisine. We were too late for breakfast(ends at 10:30) but had a good burger and bowl of chilli for lunch. The coffee was hot and so was the local gossip . Check Leon’s out if you get the chance, it’s a little off the beaten path but not hard to find. If it’s good enough for Sasquatch it’s good enough for anyone.

A quaint, cozy little diner. ORIGINALLY was established in 1968, and even though I have lived some times as close as 2 blocks from it. My first visit was only last May. Had I ever been there 30 odd years ago when I first moved to Danville, I would’ve found NO REASON to ever cook again.
Opening under new ownership but retaining the things that have made it a DEFINITE GO TO PLACE.
MY first experience was enough to have caused me to stop by Saturday, February 15 2025. Only to find them closed. DRIVING BY yesterday (Saturday, February 16th and seeing cars in the parking lot (which is a little small but well maintained), I stopped. Met with a friendly smile and EVEN THOUGH they were NOT OPEN yet because they were preparing for lunch and doing all the things you do when preparing for your GRAND OPENING, I was told that the breakfast menu was not available at the moment and lunch would begin in a few hours.
When I said I would try again another day, even though all I wanted was a Fried-egg sandwich.
I was offered the kind of service that simply DOESN’T EXIST ANYMORE!
” Well, the grill is hot. Would you like that on sour dough bread?”
Of course I did.
“And could I have American cheese on that?”
“CERTAINLY, anything else, bacon perhaps?”
“Yes, PLEASE add a “MUG” root beer .”
Look up CONGENIALITY in your dictionary, and you will find a photo of “LEON’S” as the definition.
I couldn’t have been happier with the food, service, or staff.
If you want to find a NEW FAVORITE DINING EXPIERIANCE …. FIND LEON’S.
Sorry, I have no pictures, I forgot my phone.
However, I will NEVER FORGET the amazing way I was treated.

This is my favorite spot for the great home style way cooking. A real throwback into my childhood. Catfish Fridays and meatloaf Tuesdays are well worth the wait. Great service and great food set in the appropriate atmosphere.

This is just like the original Leon’s was 40 years ago when I ate there with my parents when the waitress took care of the whole place by herself her name was DEE she was such a sweetheart she knew everybody and took care of everybody like it was her family I love this restaurant I highly recommend it

My friend and I went there for breakfast. We like to travel to various restaurants to try out their biscuits and gravey. This was the first time that I have been to Leon’s. It was a great experience. The building was small for a restaurant (I was told that it was originally a gas station that was converted into a restaurant in 1968). The building appears to be freshly painted inside and out. It was clean, welcoming, the service was good and so was our biscuits and gravey all at a reasonable price. Due to major construction in the immediate area it was a bit of an adventure to make our way to the parking lot but overall great fun, especially all of othe old posters and signs. Give it a go.
