Leonidas’ fresh Belgian Chocolates and French Cafe with Illy espresso, crepes, Belgian waffles, croissants, pastry, thin omelettes, quiche and many other brunch items. After winning awards in World Fair for his chocolates, in 1913 Leonidas Kistakedis set up his cafe in Ghent, Belgium, offering chocolates and pastry. We have continued that offering in our three Chicago-Evanston-Northbrook stores. On 15 November 2013 King Philippe of Belgium announced that Leonidas was awarded a place on this list of certified purveyors to the royal household for its exceptional quality.

Such a warm and welcoming cafe. Absolutely recommend their Parisian hot chocolate and Quiche. I got the vegetarian one and paired it with the Parisian HC (Dark chocolate). It was amazing on a cold and windy Chicago day :).
The staff is adorable and soo sweet. Eva is amazing. Ask Eva for her fav chocolate recommendation. You won’t be disappointed ❤️

This is one of my to go to places for a quick lunch or coffee with a friend. I’m probably there at least once a week.
I like the ambiance and their menu. I usually get their Brie & Prosciutto Croissant which is delicious! Lately I’ve discovered another favorite.. Strawberry Belgian Waffle. It is SO GOOD! Their waffle mixture is just so delicious I really can’t get enough of it 🙂 I typically go with a cappuccino or a regular coffee. Today’s coffee didn’t taste very fresh though.
My friend got an omelette, which she enjoyed.
The service…that is the one thing that still needs improvement. I’ve already shared my feedback with the manager a few weeks back regarding one certain employee who is unfortunately very unfriendly and straight up rude. The manager knew exactly who I’m referring to and was supposed to “address it”, however when I was there last week the girl was still there and her attitude/behavior seemed unchanged. Other girls working there are very nice and friendly though!

Best quiche ever!!! Indoor or outdoor dining options. Music playing in background, helps with feeling like conversations are more private having background noise. Delicious coffee in a ceramic mug. Vegetarian options, fresh pastries, fresh hot crepes made right at the counter to watch if you would like too. Hot and cold sandwiches, so many options! Don’t let the name of the Cafe keep you from missing out on this gem! Its not a chocolate/candy store. Super cute place! You will love it!

The best patisserie experience in the area. The staff is friendly, the pastries and hot foods are delicious. The drinks and atmosphere are exactly what you would expect from a European patisserie. I highly recommend the drinking chocolate – velvety smooth and rich with fine chocolate. It’s like drinking a bar of dark chocolate. As it should be.

Great place in downtown NB! Food is always fresh and high quality. Only knock on Leonidas is if you’re not there early then expect a long line and long wait. The cashier also makes coffee drinks and only one person making food. With a bunch of to go orders placed online it makes for more of a restaurant-pace place.

I visit this café every weekend to pick up my order, and it has quickly become one of my favorite spots in Chicagoland. They serve the best croissants I’ve ever had here, with an authentic French atmosphere that makes each visit special. If you visit this café, I highly recommend the hot mocha with Belgian chocolate—it’s incredibly delicious, along with the crepes. And, of course, you can’t miss the Belgian chocolate! Today, I also bought some macarons as gifts for my friends.
