DON’T EVEN THINK OF GOING SOMEWHERE ELSE!! Holy moly this place is incredible!! As a community, we need to keep this joint in business. I ordered the chicken fajita burrito (no sour cream) and the California burrito for my husband. These burritos blew our minds lol. We are California natives and are quite homesick when it comes to authentic Mexican food. This hits it out of the park!! All senses fired! I can’t use enough exclamation marks!! There’s not an ounce of filler in these burritos, just pure curated flavor.
I might need to send them a thank you card. My burrito was the size of my forearm too! Also let’s tip the hat to the cleanliness of the business and the quick and friendly service. *Round of applause *

Trying them their first day opening, I got three different tacos; carnitas taco, Carne asada taco, and chorizo. Also tried the horchata and chips and queso. First my minor and I mean so minor basically doesn’t matter nit picks. The Carne Asada was a little tough, but it’s to be expected with a cheap cut of steak, The queso is a little runny when fresh however tastes great. Now the other meats I tried were pretty much perfect especially for a 4 dollar taco. Some of The little things like the slight toasting on their soft shells for the tacos was a great addition. Added a lot to the experience of each taco. Also the chips had a slight pepper taste to them for me and I loved that. The horchata Boy howdy it’s a strong cinnamon taste, I would say the only place doing Horchata better is El Mexicano in Clarksville. In close The pricing is incredible, you can legit eat here for less than taco bell across the street, And you get authentic great tasting Mexican experience. While also supporting a small business. The only thing I will say is you can get some inconsistency in the quality of dishes, along with some weird decisions. I ordered a green chili burrito which lists potato as an ingredient and it legitimately was filled with fry cut uncooked raw potatoes. I can’t say I’ve ever been served a raw potato before, and I’m thinking it has to be on purpose because it was 60 percent of the burrito. So I would say always ask about the ingredients before you try something new.

I’ve been waiting for a new restaurant to move into the old KFC location for years now, I’m glad this is the restaurant that chose that location. I’m excited that there’s now a local option for Mexican food that’s not a chain, granted, I know this restaurant has one other location in Indianapolis, which was the first one but still. I tried the food from here for the first time tonight and it was spectacular. I ordered the #20 which is the chimichanga dinner. They gave me a huge chimichanga, a good size portion of rice, beans, lettuce and pico as well all for twelve dollars. You would get less food for a higher price at El Nopal. I also made sure to get some chips and queso. The chips were fresh and the queso was thick, the perfect ratio. The food was tasty, I will definitely be back.

Wasn’t hoping for much when trying this place as all the reviews I seen complained about the food taste and quality. They are not wrong. Not very welcoming when going in and interacting with the staff. Ordered some chicken tacos and they taste so bland. The liquid in the chicken made the single tortilla fall apart almost instantly. Never had a good taco that only has one tortilla. Just not a good value for what you are getting. Definitely much better local Mexican restaurants around. I’d put this with the late night taco bell category. If you want good tacos hit up La Loma or El Mexicano reastraunt.

Fantastic rolled tacos, carnitas are an A+, and the salsa verde is too good, buy an extra, one is not enough because its so good. Horchata is a little sweeter than I like it but dont sleep on it…its worth a try for sure.

Our family has a few favorite Mexican food spots in the area so I almost passed this place up. Decided to give it a try and was impressed. We went inside instead of using the drive thru. The gentleman working the register was patient with us (first time) and offered great recommendations. Serving sizes are great. We decided on the tamale combo and chicken burrito combo. Both items came out fast and really hit the spot. The meat was tender, juicy and full of flavor. I always say that you can judge how a Mexican restaurant is going to be based off of their chips alone and Leonardo’s didn’t disappoint. I look forward to going back and trying more things.

I had relatives visiting from out of town and I wanted to provide breakfast for them on Saturday, Jan 31. I had a copy of the take-out menu that I had picked up which had a great description of each item (no prices given) but only a QR code to guide you to an on-line menu with prices for each item. I neglected to visit the on-line menu since it was only breakfast and called in an order for 3 huevos rancheros and three breakfast burritos. When I got to the pick-up window I was charged an amount that made my eyes water. Since I had not checked prices beforehand I just paid the bill and left. I must say, the food was very good and was sufficient for both that day and the day after. The following day I checked the prices posted at the on-line menu and discovered that I had been overcharged by a significant amount. On Monday, I went to the restaurant and spoke to the manager, describing what had happened. As someone else noted, their receipts do not indicate what was purchased, only the amount paid. I was a little concerned that my story would not be believed but the manager went through the receipts and verified the charge and time of day. He also spoke with an employee, perhaps the one who waited on me. When satisfied, he apologized and refunded the amount overcharged. All in all, the incident was handled very quickly and properly and the food was very good. This restaurant has not been open very long so this bump may be due to an inexperienced employee. Highly recommended, but having prices on the take-out menu would probably increase the number of orders placed.
