Hidden gem! Once you find this great, second story restaurant, it will become a regular on the West Hartford lunch and dinner circuit for you. Food is exceptional in the atmosphere is warm and cozy, especially in the back room with the bar. The whole restaurant is on the second story of a blue back building with big windows overlooking a Whole Foods in Troutbrook. Highly recommend trying this place!

Leon Restaurant and Bar is such a great spot in West Hartford! The food is a delicious fusion of Peruvian and Mexican flavors, with the Peruvian side really standing out. The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming, and the staff is super friendly. Chef Ulises is amazing. His Peruvian ceviche was fresh and full of flavor, and the lomo saltado tacos were absolutely delicious. Definitely a spot worth checking out.

Hermani, the server, was very nice and welcoming. The food is amazing, even my mom who’s not very spice-tolerant loved the food. I had the Birria Tacos and I highly recommend. The atmosphere, the servers, the food, all so good. 10/10

I absolutely love it hereeee! The food is authentic, fresh, tasty, and with bold new flavors. I am obsessed Ulises is amazing Chef, he has true passion. I had tacossss….2x in one week! Ummm yaaa really like the food 🙂
I was also introduced to Chicha a traditional Hispanic drink! Involves boiling purple corn with pineapple, spices, and then sweetening it with sugar and lime…sooooo goooooood! I saw Ulises making a fresh batch in back.
Come here, the service is on point, atmosphere is lively, and everyone who comes here loves the food.

I have been here twice, and both times were a great experience. The atmosphere is very cozy and welcoming, and the food is always fresh and flavorful without being overly greasy. Their guacamole is excellent, and all of the vegan entrées are really good. I am not vegan, but I genuinely enjoy them a lot. I especially appreciate that they offer so many vegan options as part of their regular menu, which makes it easy for everyone to find something they will enjoy. .

I love this place. Best kept secret in west Hartford. I kind of don’t want to let people know about this place because it’s such a beautiful upstairs hidden bar, not crowded with some fun sitting areas and games, with a really great happy hour every day! $10 bucks for amazing chef one of a kind small plates and shareables. But I don’t want them to close down because the food is so original and inspired by Peru. Great drinks. And the abuela’s chocolate birthday cake they gave to my husband was deliciosos. torta de chocolate, a deeply rich, moist chocolate cake covered in a thick, creamy fudge frosting called fudge de olla. This homemade-style dessert is a beloved classic often served at birthday parties and family gatherings. I don’t want it to be gone when we go back but love the little speak-easy atmosphere and gorgeous atmosphere.

Don’t miss out on this place guys and gals if you love authentic Mexican with a modern flare this is it . Wow . From cocktails with fresh ingredients to the food and service. So many options, my bf who’s not really a big Mexican food guy loved the menu . The artichoke, the guacamole, even the burger and fried rice he said was Amazing. But my fav was the pork belly , I had that with a side of cilantro lime rice and it was heaven lol .And I like that you can do any single taco as well as an enchilada. We didn’t have room for dessert but I can say the espresso was one of the best . Nice and hot just the way it should be… this place is so inviting too , open concept with a cute fire place in the corner I bet it’s so cozy in the winter .
We can’t wait to go back . Wether for food or just a night cap or Both , it’s so GOOD

Fantastic atmosphere. Only nice restaurant I’ve seen with shuffleboard! The space has three distinct areas—a nice bar right when you walk in, then a nicer dining side, then another bar side. Really great music the whole evening. The menu has some standards and some really unique items— my family can be picky and I’m positive everyone would find something they’d really like.
If you’re in an upbeat and fun mood and want a place to fuel that vibe, this is your spot.

Made reservations to Leon for a date night and was very disappointed. The restaurant was nearly empty so I’m not sure why a reservation was needed, but that’s besides the point. The people and service were nice so this review is not about bad service. We ordered arroz con mariscos and Peruvian lomo saltado. The rice was very bland in both dishes and tasted like it was cooked with dishwasher water. The steak was good and prepared well but the overall dish lacked any flavor. The mussels in arroz con mariscos were slimy and half of the shells had noussels at all. The ambiance and vibe were really weird. It reminded me as if a Best Western wanted to open an upscale restaurant on its premises. The whole place lacked authenticity and unity in design. For the price of the food and the location this was a very disappointing experience
