Lena’s Pierogi House is exactly the kind of place every town needs. The food here is absolutely fantastic — wholesome, homemade, and packed with the kind of flavor you can only get when people truly care about what they’re serving. Every dish feels like it was made in someone’s own kitchen, not mass-produced, and the portions are generous for the price. It’s easily one of the best values around.
You’ll see a few negative comments online, but let’s be honest — those usually come from people who show up expecting something for nothing. This is real food, made by real people, and the quality speaks for itself. Some folks complain anywhere they can just to try to get a freebie; that’s on them, not the business.
If you want great pierogies, comfort food done right, and a genuinely warm experience, Lena’s Pierogi House is the place. Highly recommend!

I heard great things about this place and finally gave it a try. Hunky food at its finest. The food was outstanding and full of flavor. Haluski, stuffed cabbage, kielbasa, pork, sauerkraut all phenomenal. Service was great and there was ample parking on and off the street. Portions were excellent for the price. I left with a full stomach and will be ready to come back again very soon…. UPDATE, I came back for another round of delicious food. This time I had the Hungarian Platter and it was fantastic. Lena’s is a must try for anyone who loves great food.

Amazing food! Haluski was like homemade. Best cabbage roll from a restaurant, and probably the best pierogis I ever had. Even the kielbasa was amazing and I usually don’t care for it. I will be stopping in every time I am in the area.

More of a 3 1/2 star….
Hummm. This is a tough one. After all I had heard about this place and its “delicious” Pierogies, I finally gave them a try and was disappointed. Not by the price nor quantity/portion but the quality. That being said, I am very picky AND also come from Detroit where were have the suburb of Hamtramck, our own little Polish, German and Hungarian Central. I know this food well. (To bad Lena’s doesn’t have City Chicken)
Lena’s is a small place, maybe 14 tables. There is no table service so you order at the counter and someone brings your meal and drink to you. There is a beverage cooler to the left of the register with a decent selection of prepackaged drinks. Service was friendly and helpful.
Both my friend and I ordered the stuffed cabbage with Haluski (theirs is made with dumplings, seemingly homemade, instead of noodles, which gave an interesting texture and an added weight). I ordered a side of french onion pierogies and Pam wanted to try the spinach and red pepper. Both our plates came out quickly.
Once arriving at the table, you couldn’t help but notice the SIZE of the rolls! 2 of them and big as damn oranges! Impressive! Well more than the average person could eat. The haluski was a good portion as well. I was jealous that my friend had more, lol. The pierogies, 6 for $5 were average size.
Now, once we got settled and started it was immediate that we both said the same the thing: the cabbage rolls, GREAT BIG things that they were were bland and pretty flavorless and just this side of warm. Pepper was really needed as was an extra 10 minutes in the oven. It was hard to believe given how beautiful the rolls were to look at that they were blah in flavor. The haluski was decent tasting but needed a bit more “umph” as well. The pierogies, sadly, were flavorful but slighty gummy. Not super bad mind you, just a tad too much where they weren’t pleasurable but they were filling. The spinach/red pepper one was pretty interesting. I wasn’t impressed with the french onion version but we each have our own tastes.
All in all, for the portion size and price, $12, we can’t complain BUT the flavors were really lacking. Yet you received enough food for 2 meals.
We both said the same thing, “decent and plentiful but not worth going back for”.

The employees were super friendly and very efficient even as the place became fairly busy. They took the time to explain all the ordering options as I was a first time customer. I ended up ordering the polish plate and an order of bloomin onion pierogis to eat there and more than a few dozen frozen bagged and oven panned takeout pierogis along with the chicken soup and 3 tubs of the halushki. The food I ate there was so good it was ridiculous. Thank goodness this place isn’t closer to me or I’d be there everyday for lunch. The prices are very reasonable for the amount of great food you get. Highly recommend and will definitely be back.

To.Die.For. The food was all delicious!!! We had 5 kinds of perogies, the Polish platter, and the Hungarian platter. Will go back in a heartbeat!!! We literally planned our family vacation around stopping here. We will be returning. Next time we are going on our drive home so I can take a bunch of frozen perogies with us. The Haluski was some of the best I’ve ever had!

Not sure how this place has such a high rating. I spent $60 on DoorDash and everything except the soaking wet hoagie went in the trash (I order from DoorDash all the time and have never had a bun so wet). I think the worst things I got were the haluski and the cheddar pirogies. I’ll just leave those 2 items at that. The potato pirogies however were edible (tasted like water and dough). The chicken Paprikash was edible as well (although the dumplings were 100% frozen or premade.. they resembled the dough from a can of pillsbury dough). Really wanted to love this place and hate leaving negative reviews but wasting $60 is a bummer.

Very great tasting food but the pierogi have cheese inside the potato ones when growing up I was brought up in the Catholic Church and was used to the way they made them without the cheese was more original for me

We love pierogies and are so happy we stopped here. We ordered a Holiday Platter and a Polish Platter and the selection and portion sizes were great! We loved the pierogies, potatoes, kielbasa, and Haluski. The stuffed cabbage was not my favorite, that one could have been hotter and the meat inside kind of tasted like spam so wouldn’t get that again but will definitely be back again for everything else. Service was great for us as well.
