Social Profile:

Leña (which translates to firewood) makes dough from scratch and brings it to life with traditional proofing practices, located in historic downtown Cleveland, Mississippi. Our pizza is inspired by pizzaiolos of Naples, Italy, and we strive for memorable flavor combinations that are enhanced by our wood-fired brick oven. We’re located in the rural Mississippi Delta, halfway between Memphis, TN and Jackson, MS. Just off the historic Highway 61 — traveled by legendary bluesmen — we provide pizza and bagels unlike anywhere else in the region.

After years of missing opening days, my brothers and I finally had a chance to try Leña. Since we are only in the area when visiting our parents, the stars just never aligned.

We are SO impressed with the quality and taste. The pizzas, bagels AND dessert are all incredible. As someone who travels frequently, this is some of the best pizza I’ve had. The family’s favorite was the Stracciatella special and the Meat Lovers. We did try and enjoy the Prosciutto Arugula, Margherita, and the Mushroom Truffle as well.

The Coconut Lime Cheesecake was AMAZING. I’m not a fan of citrus flavors in my cakes and cookies, but WOW. The Nutella Calzone, however, was not very good. It was probably the only thing the family disliked.

The same morning, we also dined in for breakfast. Great bagels, but nothing like their pizzas. Bagels are worth a try, but you won’t be missing out on much. The pizza? MUST try.

We will definitely be back.

Do not miss out on this one, the food & service are excellent! We drove to Cleveland from Memphis just to eat here, we made it early Saturday in time for bagels, which were better than all the bagels I’ve had in NYC, truly wonderful. We came back at night for pizza, which was perfection, truly Neapolitan, few places I’ve had pizza in the south can touch this. I had their veggie special and my partner had pepperoni, we also had a delicious Italian Cab Franc to go with it, their wine list is small but mighty. They happen to have tiramisu on the menu, which we were lucky enough to get before it sold out, and it was amazing. On top of such incredible food, the service was impeccable, everyone was so friendly and super attentive! I will definitely make the drive again, it was absolutely worth it.

After reading about Leña online, I had to come by and see what all the excitement was about. Now, I can officially say that I understand the buzz surrounding this place! The pizza was fantastic and the staff were attentive and kind. 10/10 experience. Marisol, felicitaciones on all your success! It’s well deserved.

The pizza is much better than your typical Mississippi pizza place. The prices are pretty steep. We got 3 pizzas, 3 drinks, some bagels and cream cheese, which put our total at nearly $100. The quality was there but the value was lacking. We have a few other brick over joints we frequent and we don’t spend near this much for great pizza. The owner is super nice but the employee taking orders reminded me of a robot. Zero attempt to smile or make a connection. The waitresses were also very nice. Over all a great spot!

We had the best time! We went the night of the 50 nights of lights in Cleveland and it was very busy. It wasn’t to long of a wait. They were friendly and respectful in service even though it was so busy! It was a great time! We were from out of town and loved all of it! I am a pizza snob and it was a great combination! The deserts were also perfect!

What a wonderful spot! We drove from the Jackson area, about 2.5 hours, and it was worth it. Despite the line, service was quick. Staff was friendly and you could tell we were in a small town because people were greeting each other by name. The menu is simple and everything we had was perfectly balanced and cooked. The dough is the star from the appetizer to the dessert. The sauce was clearly fresh and made in house. I think the Nutella calzone was my favorite. The warm dough and creamy Nutella contrasted perfectly with the fresh fruit.

The was very good crust was a little floppy but the flavors was amazing. The issue is had with the place was how rude the lady at the register was to me and my girlfriend, acting like she didn’t she didn’t have time to take our order. The buildings design wouldn’t have been too bad if the customer knew how to be respectful. All in all I think you will love the food and hate the place.

Based purely on the Za. Very floppy and the flavors were off on the meat lovers. Pepperoni ratio was too high. For the small size of the slice I shouldn’t have to fold it to eat it. Value is not there. $23 for a medium is too much.
