My daughters and I were craving Asian food while visiting Juneau, so we decided to try the Lemon Tree Café. It’s a small, casual spot with eclectic furniture and bright decor. The food and service were excellent. The owner was friendly and he even spoke Cantonese with me.

We ordered the shrimp dumplings, beef stew with rice, and the Old Friend Noodle Soup with pork. Although the shrimp dumplings were a bit pricey for just five pieces, they were delicious. The noodle soup had just the right level of spiciness, and the pork was very tender. The beef in the stew was also tender and flavorful.

Overall, it’s a great place to enjoy some Chinese/Vietnamese comfort food in Juneau!

Omg this place is so good. Growing up in Seattle this place is better than some of Vietnamese restaurants I’ve had in Seattle. This place has great food. They’re super friendly.
I had the beef noodle soup and my bf had the wonton soup and we also ordered a side of the shrimp dumplings. Im not even kidding the flavors are so incredible.

We were in Juneau for a day off a cruise ship and wanted to grab dinner somewhere less touristy, and more so where the locals eat year-round. This was exactly that! Dumplings and staple Vietnamese soups make up most of the menu. The shrimp dumplings and chicken steam bun were both quite tasty and good quality. For soup, I had the chicken hometown mystery (medium spice). The portion was generous, it had an excellent broth, and the noodles were super tender. It had a good amount of heat if you have some spice tolerance. This place definitely has a hole-in-the-wall vibe, but we loved the guy who was running that place — good vibes and pretty quick service. I’d highly recommend if you find yourself looking for some good local food.

Delicious! One-man operation today, and the food came quickly, and was delicious. The steamed bun was generous, and a nice mix of flavors without being too spicy. The “Old Friend Noodle soup” had a rich and surprisingly complex broth, and the slices of meat were good. Plenty of skinny noodles, and it was really tasty to the end. The decor is simple and bright with a hodgepodge of supplies lying around that actually gave the place atmosphere. Really recommend this place.

Absolutely delicious!!! All the photos are already half eaten because it was that good, but trust that all the dishes were beautiful upon arrival! Best steam bun I’ve ever had! And it’s not one of those places where you get each soup and all the broth tastes the same, each one has individual flavor and it is super tasty!!!! Will definitely be recommending to friends!!

The place itself is small but pretty cozy. It is a little bit of walk from the cruise dock but the food taste great! Tried their egg fooyoung and it’s pretty good. They have soft and delicious rice and the portion is ginormous! Gosh 2 people can have 1 portion of rice+ egg fooyoung with no problem. Haven’t tried the noodles yet but I will! Definitely will comeback

The food is fantastic. The owner is very friendly. And if you go often enough he remembers your order as soon as you walk in. Love this place.

This is probably my number one food spot in Juneau. Food is excellent, service is friendly, and food comes out quick, hot, and fresh. Favorites include the old friend noodle soup, chicken steam buns, and cold noodle salad. Only cons are that the seating is very limited (get there early for lunch) and the cafe is insufferably hot. Cannot recommend enough.

I ordered a slightly spicy old friend soup. It was so yummy and full of flavor and I also got some steam buns and shrimp dumplings those were quite good as well. I also tried the 8 treasures tea and it was delightful! The man running the place handled our large group quite well even though he looked a bit anxious at first he did his best to make sure we were as comfortable and well cared for as possible and I was impressed. There was about 12 or 13 of us total!

If you like pho, this is such a find five minutes from the cruise port. Chicken pho was excellent. Rivaled those in many large cities. Highly recommend supporting this small business
