I should’ve read the reviews before ordering.. but it was cold out and a nice Hot pot sounded like it would warm me up.
Thats about all it did. It was flavorless not water, with what appeared to be canned flavorless chicken.
If you decide to eat here bring your own seasonings as this place has 0.

The wife and I were staying in the connected hotel, and sometimes with connected hotel restaurants you get questionable quality…
But this place was fantastic.
Staff had us seated right away, our server was super attentive, and for the meal choices? Fantastic as well.
The wife had their Orange Chicken, and I had the Red Chicken Curry Clay Pot menu items, everything was fresh, everything was flavorful, and it just really hit the spot on a cold Chicago night.
Honestly? Severely underrated for the quality of food and service we received. Kudos to the staff for doing a great job all around.

We ate here while staying at the connected hotel and really enjoyed our meal. We ordered the sesame chicken, egg rolls, crab rangoons, fried rice, and dumplings, and everything was great. The only small note is that the sesame chicken could’ve had a bit more flavor, but overall everything was absolutely amazing. Would definitely eat here again!

We got there after they shut down breakfast and they still let us order and eat. So sweet of them. The vegetarian eggs Benedict was amazing!!!! Great staff and so welcoming an understanding. First day of our week here so I loooove this place!!!!

We went here for dinner recently during our time in Chicago. The food, service and ambience are really nice. We probably had the most tasty Chinese cuisine at Leiya. The waiter who served us was very friendly, smiling and attentive. We had everything fried rice, prawn chow mein and pancake scallions. We also had non-alcoholic hibiscus drinks. Food and drink were amazingly tasty, and as you’d imagine big portion sizes
The reason I am giving 4/5 stars is, when we paid the bills by cash, we got the change back without the cents amount, without any acknowledgement. So, both of us in total didn’t get about $1.50 change back. Obviously we didn’t ask for it as we were prepared to tip more than that. We felt this slightly odd, hence 4 stars.
If you are in town and want to have the best Chinese food, you should definitely try here
Thanks.

I used to eat here all the time back when this was still Shang Noodle. I ate here recently and the food was so bland and gross. I ordered the spicy seafood noodle soup ($19), which I’ve ordered at least 10 times before, and it was watery with barely any flavor. It had a plastic aftertaste. I don’t recommend coming here and unfortunately won’t be coming back.

We are staying in the attached hotel and ordered fried rice to take back to the room. The hostess took are order as soon as we stepped up and the food was ready in literally five minutes. It was great fried rice and in this area of Chicago, a great value.

We’ve been going to this place since before Leiya when it was Shang Noodle. That was also nice and Leiya has taken it to a new level. While they don’t offer the sushi bar any longer, their take on Chinese is both upscale and fairly authentic having experienced a lot of Asian cuisine. My partner and I love this place having lived close by, and unrelated to our frequenting it I also have been going over the last year with my work colleagues/friends who stumbled upon it. They also find it exceptional, so it’s nice to experience it through different lenses. When I do go on my free time I enjoy their drinks such as the saketini and lychee martini which are holdover offerings from when it was Shang, as Niu B owned it. Definitely check it out, and I recommend the twice-cooked pork belly!!

Really lovely restaurant with delicious food and generous portions. I would especially recommend the hibiscus spritz mocktail and crunchy garlic fried rice. We really enjoyed it and the staff were lovely. Only minor comment was we did not receive the correct amount of change when we paid cash. Would definitely recommend.

Met up with a friend in the area for lunch and we decided to go to Leiya.
The space is really nice and not what I was expecting for the type of food I saw online but I also understand that they recently rebranded. I was a bit unsure that I was at the right place though, especially since there was no clear signage outside.
Service was alright. Staff were attentive and our water was refilled without us needing to ask. Food came out rather quickly as well.
As for the food, it was okay. Something you’d expect from a fast casual Asian restaurant. Considering the price and Leiya claiming to be authentic, I expected better.
The drink selection did look good so I’d be willing to go back from a happy hour or drink date but would probably skip the food.
