Right away, the drinks set the tone — tropical, well-balanced, and clearly made by people who know what they’re doing. Not overly sweet, not watered down… just dangerously good. We also ordered a few appetizers, and everything we tried was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. Perfect beachside food that doesn’t feel like a tourist trap.
But the real star of the show was dessert. The Hula Pie absolutely lived up to the hype. Huge, rich, and indulgent — and what really set it apart was the drizzle of real local honey, which added a depth and warmth you don’t usually get with desserts like this. Easily one of the best desserts we had on the entire trip.
Between the oceanfront setting, great service, excellent food, and that unforgettable dessert, Leilani’s was a standout. It’s the kind of place you leave already talking about when you’ll come back next time you’re on the island.

Service was all very good. Nice, friendly.
A 5:30 pm reservation works perfectly for sunset and dusk. The menu isn’t overly adventurous, but it’s versatile and works well for groups and kids, with a few good fish options.
Absolutely loved my time at Leilani’s on the Beach, casual dining area (there’s two different sections). My bento box of all things nice was delicious and the beer I had was the perfect brew to match it with. Had a coffee as well as the glorious sun began to set. The waitress I had, was an absolute star as well, friendly and charming. 100% satisfaction!
The food was okay but underwhelming for the price and hype. The hummus was heavy on oil and hidden at the bottom of the plate, the calamari lacked much flavor, and the mashed potatoes had that heat-lamp crust that made them taste like they’d been sitting. Nothing stood out as thoughtful or memorable.
Service was friendly, and our waiter did their best, but the restaurant was very busy and it showed. The overall service level didn’t quite match what you’d expect for the setting and cost.
In hindsight, we probably would have enjoyed the beach bar portion of the restaurant more, since that casual vibe and pace seems like a better fit for this spot.
We ordered the coconut shrimp, grilled shrimp with butter and garlic, beets and ricotta salad, and poke. Unfortunately, the food did not meet our expectations. The ricotta had a thinner consistency than expected, and the beets were fairly mild in flavor. The coconut shrimp arrived at room temperature and was somewhat dry. The butter sauce on the shrimp lacked a clear buttery flavor, and the poke did not seem as fresh as anticipated.
Overall, while the service was outstanding, the food was inconsistent with what we were hoping for.
