What is this bewitching place?! I live in the Chicago area but saw an Instagram post about the fairy floss sundae. Knew I’d be in Detroit two days later so snagged a last-minute Sunday night reservation. The end result? One of the best meals I’ve EVER had.

We had a little of this and that – hummus, Lebanese rice, fattoush, falafel, etc. the real standout was the chicken wings. I have never had such delectable wings in my life. The were a little lemony, a little garlicky, crunchy… so dang good.

It was my BFFs birthday, so she received the aforementioned fairy floss sundae (and a card!), and it was as delicious as the post on Insta made it seem.

The vibe in the restaurant was cool and everyone working was nice and seemed happy to chat and make recommendations.

A+ experience all around. I will be back!

Lebanese Restaurant with family at the core. I went with my family and I enjoyed every bit of the experience. Friday at 7pm seems to be the best time to get there and enjoy the dinner pickup. (let the people watching begin)

The portions were not too large. The food was just what I needed on a cold Detroit night. The Anne Hathaway cocktail was darling and set the night off right. Muhammara with pita is a must! I had the lamb chops and roasted cauliflower. That roasted cauliflower is what is going to have me going back for more.

Even though I was super full, I had to get dessert. The lemon tart w/ raspberry thyme jam, shortbread crust… sooo refreshing and good.

I’m glad that I don’t live in Detroit because I would be at Leila’s every weekend.

What an amazing experience at Leila’s and a must when in downtown Detroit! This is a Lebanese and Mediterranean restaurant that will not disappoint. A beautiful restaurant! We were served by Abraham and he was outstanding! Aside from his amazing hospitality skills, he had a deep knowledge of the menu and explained how everything was prepared. The Haloumi and Hummus with Hashwi were so delicious and these come in generous portions to share. We also had the sticky date cake which paired with the Lebanese sundae, it was a match made in heaven. I highly recommend to try this place and if you can ask for Abraham, you will not be disappointed.

I love this restaurant so much! It is my go to for upscale Lebanese food.

You really can’t go wrong, but I do love the ribs, the mixed grill, the meat “cigars”, the fattoush salad, the wings, and the fair floss dessert to name a handful of items. The fairy floss sundae was on the 2024 NYT list of best things we ate and is a magical combination of ice cream, rose water fairy floss and pistachios.

Service is about average or average plus but the vibe is incredible and the food itself is to die for. There’s also a very wide selection of Middle Eastern spirits not available many other places and some creative cocktails made with them.

My friend and I absolutely love this restaurant. It was our second time here and we didn’t think our experience could get better and it did! We ordered many things, shared and don’t have a single negative thing to say. Demi M was an amazing server, giving us many recommendations, and top tier service. She made the experience that much better.

Nice ambiance and staff. Appetizers were pretty good, I really liked them with drinks. They had a nice cocktail selection. I was not too crazy for the main dishes. (Being Middle Eastern, I’m used to this food – I will say that). Dessert was great.

I would be back for drinks and apps.

Had an absolutely amazing dinner at Leila for our anniversary. I had heard so many good things, and we love Lebanese food. Leila did not disappoint. Everything was fresh and delicious. A very robust drink menu with creative cocktails – the Anne Hathaway and Don’t Call Me Shirley were so yummy. For food, we tried the bread, hummus, confit garlic, chicken wings and mixed meat platter. The meat was tender and juicy, and the sauces were on point. The service was attentive, and delivered special touches including a card and complimentary sundae for an anniversary treat. and the overall vibes were lively but cozy. Looks like they have an event space downstairs, which just adds to the offerings of the space. Can’t wait to come back. Highly recommend!!

We went to Leila for a girls night out and had the best experience! The food and drinks were absolutely amazing — especially the Anne Hathaway cocktail (a must-try!). But what really made the night unforgettable was the service. Raul was incredible — so attentive, friendly, and genuinely made us feel welcome. Demi was also so sweet and kind! Between the delicious food, fun atmosphere, and top-notch service, we’ll definitely be coming back soon!

Leila is known for its Lebanese and Mediterranean food, and overall, I’d say it’s a solid spot—but definitely not a light one. Save your calories if you’re planning to eat here.

I ordered the D-bone chicken wrap, and while it was good, it’s definitely heavy. The wraps here are fried, so keep that in mind. We also tried the lahmajun-style dish (basically a thin-crust pizza topped with seasoned meat). The meat was really tasty, but wow—it’s super filling. I ate two slices and was already full.

Another dish we ordered was the eggplant with lamb and chickpeas. Flavor-wise, it’s delicious, but it sits in quite a bit of oil. Still very good, just expect to find oil pooled at the bottom of the bowl.

My friends ordered the chicken tawouk, which honestly seemed like the most calorie-conscious and tasty option on the table. It came with an amazing garlic sauce. Another friend ordered the shish kebab, which was also flavorful. Both of these dishes came with a bowl of rice topped with a red sauce that added a nice touch.

Service was okay—not amazing, not terrible. The bar is really nice, and the ambience is good overall. We were seated in a booth, which was comfortable and added to the experience.

One important thing to note: gratuity was automatically added to our bill. We were a party of four, and it was listed as a “large party,” which was surprising. Just be sure to check your bill before tipping extra, especially if you’re dining with more than a couple of people.

Overall: Great flavors, very filling dishes, nice ambience—but definitely check your bill and come hungry.
