Awesome Indian food. Great customer service, excellent food, nice atmosphere. Not spicy. We had Butter Chicken, Tandoori Chicken, Fisherman’s Prawns, Blue Crab Taka-Tak, Coconut Curry Scallops, and Garlic Naan. I absolutely loved the coconut curry sauce and mixed the Blue Crab Taka-Tak in it so as not to waste a drop.

We went for a date night to this place. One of the worst places to have Indian food in the area. The curry tasted uncooked, spinach chaat was burnt, salmon was overcooked, onion kulcha tastes bitter cause they burnt it.
Save your hard earned $$ and go somewhere else for a better dining experience.

I love Lehja, and am shocked I havent revirwrd them prior to this.
It is always an amazing dining experience with excellant service.
You can feel and taste the love Sunny  puts into every dish!
Everything was flavorful and fresh, especially the Shahi Paneer which was rich, creamy and perfectly spiced.
Friendly and attentive staff made the experience smooth and welcoming.
Vibrant ambiance added to the enjoyment of the meal.
Good portion sizes and quality for the price. The meal felt indulgent without being overpriced.
Overall: A five-star experience across the board—will definitely be back!

What I Tried:
Samosa Chaat
Shahi Paneer
Naan
Neapolitan Kulfi
Sula Chenin Blanc

My Rating Rationale:
+1 Service
+1 Food (Taste/Flavor/Quality)
+1 Presentation
+1 Atmosphere/Vibe
+1 Value

“Indian hot” was nicely hot! I don’t know if I lucked out at the end of the night or if their normal portion size is so big but my $18 meal was enough for 4 meals 🙂

One of the best Indian restaurants we’ve dined at. Large menu to select from. The server was knowledgeable and helpful. I had the Tandori Salmon that I don’t remember seeing elsewhere. We missed the Diwali feast menu by 2 days. We plan on returning for that in 2026.

I’ve been to this establishment a few times now, but my most recent experience warrants me taking time and writing a review. The food was delicious, full of flavor, and very filling. Every dish was clearly made with care and authenticity. What truly set this experience apart from any restaurant I’ve been to, though, was the hospitality. The owner personally came by our table multiple times throughout the evening to check on us, making sure everything was perfect. He even took the time to introduce us to the chef, which made the experience feel extra special and personal. You can really tell how much pride and passion goes into both the food and the service here. Highly recommend!

One of the most disappointing Indian restaurants I’ve tried in RVA.
The basics weren’t met -our meat dishes were overcooked and chewy, and even their “signature” Spinach Chaat tasted bitter, clearly cooked in old oil that you could taste in every bite. The chicken curry was watered down, under-spiced, and lacked any real flavor.

Service was just as bad.
We waited so long for someone to check on us that I eventually had to walk to the bar to ask for the check. Staff were busy drinking wine on the side instead of paying attention to customers.

Wonderful Experience!
We celebrated a number of occasions with friends at this upscale modern Indian restaurant, and I have to say that their food never let us down. The interior decoration and the ambience were great. The staffs were very polite and helpful in selecting food. According to your spice tolerance you can also ask them to adjust the spice level of the dishes. The waiting period wasn’t particularly lengthy. Each dish we ordered had unique flavour with a well-balanced blend of spices and made with fresh high-quality ingredients. Additionally, the presentation of the dishes was too beautiful to be a visual feast. The only dish that fell short of our expectations was the biryani. They have very good vegetarian food and desserts that we adore. Lehja is something I strongly suggest trying.
The items we tasted were as follows:
Beverage- Tea
Appetizer-Samosa, Papdi Chaat, Chicken Tikka
Main course-Garlic Naan, Malvani Rassa Goat, Seafood Kerala Curry
Dessert- Kulfi

They shook my Manhattan into a watery, tasteless abomination. That can never be forgiven. Mall location attached to a hotel. Seating benches in the dining room are utterly destroyed and nasty. Not much in the way of ambiance. Food was good. Nothing super memorable. We tried multiple things from around the menu. Service was functional at best. Not attentive for sure. Probably won’t rush back.

Group of six were seated for a Friday evening with plenty of space. The wine list was deep but we shared a bottle from the rose’ and commenced to ordering. The staff and owner/manager came by frequently, shared amazing stories for many of the dishes and were really on point. The appetizers were wonderful, the main courses were absolutely fantastic. I got the classic butter chicken and wasn’t disappointed, but tried from various plates and realized it be hard to choose wrong. The desert went the same way, fortunately they have a sampler plate that we added the chocolate cake (flourless), convenient for the Passover observer with us. The place has been there now for 14 years. The atmosphere is relaxed and comfortable. I hope you enjoy it as much as we did.
