First visit order:
– beijing beef
– single hot pot one with choice of 8 items (about $24)
Second visit order:
– sezchuan ramen soup (the noodles and broth combo were so good)
– sezchuan boiled beef stir fry (family-style)
– black pepper beef tenderloin (, family style, very rich in flavor)
The service was very attentive and kind on our first visit. They were still kind on our second, they were just really busy. My first visit my cup wasn’t washed too well as I saw some lip residue on the edge, but I only saw this after I had poured half of my pop can into the cup 🙁
We’ll definitely be back!
Spinch veg dish…was good.
Dan dan noodles…delicious. Well season…nicely coated.
Scallion Pancake…nice n crispy.
Legendary Spicy Chicken…I love spicy…unfortunately it did not hit that for me. My friend who was w/ me said it was not spicy either n she is not a spicy eater. Still good n worth a try if u have not tried it.
Overrall, everything was still good n service was great.
I would come back n try more of there very large menu.
Appetizers:
– Cream cheese puffs were alright
– The chicken wings were fried in old oil and very salty.
Entrees:
I ordered the orange chicken, which tasted old and close to cold. I had requested it to be very spicy, but no spice was added at all. I kindly asked the server if she could just ask them to reheat it and add spice. The chef, “reheated” the food in less than 5 minutes, and somehow the chicken was now covered in almost a red paste and was colder than before??? In terms of taste, after they “reheated” the food, it tasted worse. There was a flour coated taste in the sauce that I assume they didn’t fully cook out. I didn’t bother telling them again and only ended up eating two pieces out of it. As for the other meal (I can’t quite remember the name, but it was beef), was not good either. Even the rice was not good. We decided to get to go containers because we hate food waste and we’d figure we can possibly recook it.
Service:
At some point we asked the server for spoons to eat our meals with. However, a few minutes later she came back with only one spoon and a ramen spoon and said something along that this was all they had and “who wants it?!” in almost a sarcastic tone. A bit confused, I asked her “isn’t this a restaurant? I would assume you have more than one spoon.” Which she replied that they did, but they were “all in the back.” I then asked her again that we would still like another regular spoon. Not even a few minutes later she came with the spoon we requested. Keep in mind, the restaurant was not busy. It was me and my friend and another table of 3. We just felt as if the server was not really interested in serving us, and she never checked in once. The only reason I’m giving the service a 3 is because the other young server who wasn’t our server was much more helpful. I understand the service isn’t really the essence of why you go out to eat, but it just made the experience much worse considering how much we spent.
Overall, the food was inconsistent, service could be better, and the price for how bad the food was, was unacceptable. In fact, me and my friend ended up going to a nearby McDonalds to get something to eat. I hope they take this feedback into consideration.
Edit: I had my brother try my leftovers and he could immediately taste the flour. This was the only picture I took because I was so disappointed by the food.
I ordered the Szechuan dumplings and they were so delicious. I also really loved the strawberry yogurt crystal boba and the chow fun. Jimmy was our waiter and did a wonderful job. Definitely coming back when im craving spicy Chinese.
