We came here on Valentine’s Day for our six-month anniversary and had booked our reservation online. A few nights before, I received three phone calls at 8:30 PM to confirm. I work early mornings and take sleep medication, and the repeated late calls actually woke me up. Typically confirmations are handled through automated texts, so it felt intrusive and unnecessary. When I called back, the manager apologized and explained their system doesn’t allow text confirmations, which I understand, but calling multiple times that late still felt inappropriate. He acknowledged our anniversary and specifically said he would be there to greet us when we arrived and that he would “take care of us.” We never saw a manager. Instead, we were seated in the back near the kitchen. It wasn’t terrible, but after that conversation, it felt disappointing and not especially thoughtful.

Service was a bit slow, though it was Valentine’s Day, so that’s understandable. The drinks were excellent. I had the Tito’s pumpkin espresso martini and my partner had a cucumber cocktail, and both were very well done. We ordered the Seafood Tour and the Legal Sea Cones. The sea cones were just okay, not very flavorful and probably not something I would order again. The seafood tower, however, was very good overall with solid portions and nice variety. I just wish there had been a bit more crab or actual crab legs included

We were looking for a nice place for some seafood around the Riverwalk area & we picked a good one. Everything we ordered was amazing—the apps, the mains, and the desserts. The atmosphere is as good as you could ask for, overlooking the river. Service was excellent as well; very attentive staff. Valenciaga took great care of us, and Manager Chris has this place going places—it was a beautiful and busy Saturday evening & he still took the time to make sure we were having a pleasant dining experience. We highly recommend!

We started with sushi and spicy cucumber margaritas (so refreshing ️ ).

For entrées, I had the lobster roll … buttery, fresh, and absolutely hit the spot while my friend went with the shrimp & crab cake combo, which was packed with flavor.

We ended the night with cheesecake (because dessert is non-negotiable ).

The views of Lake Michigan were unreal … truly one of the best parts of the experience. Only wish it was warmer so we could sit on the patio and enjoy it even more

Definitely a spot worth visiting for great seafood, drinks, and stunning lakefront views.

We had an excellent experience at Legal Sea Foods in Chicago. The food was outstanding — we ordered pasta, delicious appetizers, and a great wine to pair with the meal. Sitting outside with a view of the river made the evening even more special.

From start to finish, everything was perfect. The service was impeccable, and the atmosphere was fantastic. Highly recommended!

I went for the first time and boy I was missing out. If you like seafood this is a good place in Chicago to try. The ambiance is lovely, they have outdoor seating, right on the water, or indoors right by the windows. I ordered a blackberry burlesque for myself. It was so good! We all shared the lobster mac n cheese and it was gone, we finished it all off. Then we all got the petite lobster rolls, with shrimp and corn soup. Nothing was disappointing here, everything tasted fresh and delicious.
Carla was our waitress and she took the time to explain the menu, she also made the drink for me. She was very attentive and professional I thought.
The rest of the staff was also very professional and polite. I want to go here for a celebration sometime. Highly recommend for seafood lovers and their excellent service!

Amazing service and food!
Valenciaga took care of us and was very attentive, helpful and amicable. The lobster roll and cheesecake were amazing. We’ve had cheesecakes and lobster rolls in many places throughout the states but these are definitely in our top 3 if not the best.

We went to Legal Sea Foods for Happy Hour and enjoyed the service by Robert at the bar. He was very attentive, courteous and knowledgeable. The Happy Hour food was great with my first waygu hotdog – yum! I also enjoyed a dozen oysters, chicken wings, fish tacos, and some wonderful happy hour wines. We must return for dinner or another happy hour.

I had an amazing experience at Legal Sea Foods in Chicago thanks to my incredible server and bartender, Valenciaga. From the moment I sat down, she made me feel genuinely welcomed. Her energy is warm and effortless.

You can tell she takes real pride in her work—every interaction felt thoughtful and personal. My meal was great, but her service is what really made happy hour memorable.

If you’re visiting Legal Sea Foods, do yourself a favor and ask for Valenciaga. She turned a happy hour into a standout experience. Highly recommended!

And I loved the $1 oysters! I got two dozen!!

Legal Sea Foods was on my Happy Hour list and finally stopped in and tried the buck a shuck (3-6pm). We ordered a total of a dozen oysters, 6 clams and 3 tiger shrimps. They had only East Coast oysters (smaller, sweeter and saliny). Staff blamed the shortcoming of Lobster, Oysters and Crab because of Labor Day. Unfortunately for me, the oysters tasted stale, saliny and and nothing more. The clams were better, a bit firm with a sweeter taste, but high expectations were on the oysters. We sat at the bar, the service was great, and the atmosphere was at a good noise level that can still have a conversation next to you. Wines were 9 a glass and beers 5 a pint, which were a good side kick to wash down the raw bar. Shrimps were definitely the winner today at Legal Sea Foods. Definitely want to return and try out the lobster cones or buttered lobster rolls which they were out of.

Sat on the balcony. Great view. Kayshun was our server. She was very attentive. Fisherman’s Platter, Lobster Roll, Calamari, Crab Cake, Street Corn, Key Lime Pie, and Lemon Sorbet. Everything was fresh. I loved the Calamari. I wanted scallops, but they ran out.
