This place is amazing. Cant wait to come back with friends. Chef Michael really cares about his work and it shows. The menu has many standout dishes that draw from unique flavors. Our server Jean was also the mixologist who made fantastic drinks, and the service was outstanding. We had a High quality date night and it was very affordable! As a food lover – highly recommend.

I had a very nice time at the Grill on South Ocean. It’s a very small place so if you’re looking for a nice intimate dinner this would be a good place. I do recommend you make a reservation since it is so small, and that if it’s fully booked it would probably get loud in there so something to keep in mind. The restaurant itself has a very unique vibe to it. It was a definite mix of nice restaurant but also bar. The service was very good and our waiter took excellent care of us. The food itself was amazing. I got the stuffed salmon as an entree and my boyfriend got the Cajun chicken Alfredo pasta. The stuffed salmon was absolutely delicious! It was perfectly cooked and flaky. It was stuffed with crab and the flavors of the crab paired wonderfully with the salmon. The mashed potatoes and brussel sprouts that came with it were also delicious. (For the picture of the salmon I had already started eating that’s why the potatoes look like that, it was not served to me like that.) My boyfriend enjoyed his pasta and said that there wasn’t much of a taste from the Cajun seasoning but it was still very good and the chicken and pasta were cooked well. For dessert I got the key lime pie which I loved. The crust had a nice flavor and the pie itself was one of the best I had. I appreciated that it was still tart and not overly sweet and had that wonderful lime taste. My boyfriend got the cookie skillet and said it was absolutely wonderful, the ice cream was good quality and that the cookie was absolutely phenomenal! It’s pricey but the quality of the food is certainly worth the price. Overall I’d say this is a good spot for a for a date night or a small gathering.

Pass this place by…. Unless you want to blow $100 for a lunch.

It pains me to do this but my wife and I have been loyal customers for years before the new ownership…. Always enjoyed the food and reasonable prices. We went back yesterday for lunch. Ordered: 2 Kale Salads @ $16 each, 2 cups of Chicken Noodle soup $22!!. 1 diet coke, 2 cups of tea and a piece of pie. Total about $90.

The waiter asked if we wanted a bowl or Cup of soup and we specified that we only wanted a cup. When questioned, he insisted that the soup was only one size and yes, the chicken noodle soup was $11 per cup.

Give me a break….

Thanks for making my decision to never come here again very easy

Absolutely amazing!!! Honestly, a wonderful experience. First time at Legacy Room and our bartender JP was excellent and Chef Mike was outstanding. JP had some creative cocktails on the menu and they were very good. Chef Mike prepared some incredibly delicious food. The calamari, duck, and chicken dishes were beautifully plated and exceptionally flavorful. The dessert – a creative take on rice crispy treats, was a pleasant surprise – especially for someone that usually doesn’t go for sweets. Both JP and Chef Mike were very personable and took the time to share their inspirations. Very friendly staff! This is a great place to dine at on date night, special occasions, or really when you want tasty and well-prepared drinks and food.

Although a bit far from our usual places, the Legacy Room is definitely a destination place for us and we will be sure to return – and soon! Thank you!!

The South Ocean Grille in Patchogue just reopened. We stopped in to have lunch and check out the updated look. We were greeted by one of the owners, Gene, who excitedly explained the menu and drinks and his vision to be very “Long Island forward” meaning they will be serving as much local food and drinks as possible.

Next we met Erin at the bar who was so friendly and warm. Our server ( sorry, didn’t get her name) was also very sweet and attentive.

For lunch my other half had scallops with risotto. He said it was perfect and was pleasantly surprised to find shrimp in the risotto. Bonus! I had the black bean burger which was super yummy and the fries were perfect, not oily at all and lightly seasoned.

For dessert, we split a huge piece of key lime pie. My husband never eats the crust, but this time he ate the whole thing saying it was the best crust he ever had.

The chef, Kevin, came over to thank us as we were leaving. He was warm and appreciative. And yes, he made everything including the key lime pie.

I’m happy to see this wonderful restaurant return. Pop in and give them a try.

The best meal that I have had in an extraordinarily long time. Everything I had, I wanted more of. I could have had multiple plates of the same food item I ordered.

I appreciate that Legacy Room participated in Restaurant Week which enabled us to sample their menu. Next time I visit I will be seated at the bar to try to experience that seating.

I wish I could dine there every day. That is how exceptional the food there is. At this point however (as of February 17th) I think I will be back in March.

South Ocean Grill is a delight! I really love being able to dine off Main Street as it gets a bit busy so on this evening, my family and I needed a bite to eat as we had a relative in hospital. We were all very sad and hungry and fortunately they had a table for all 5 of us! Our waitress was so attentive, friendly and courteous (I forgot her name) but the food was amazing and came out quickly! The atmosphere there is perfect for intimacy and cozy. We shared appetizers and each got a main dish, we also indulged in some desserts. I would recommended but also encourage reservations as the space is small and gets busy! My only suggestion is that they should branch out, get a better bar area and please become a bit more accessible to those who need it!

Out of town and in search of a neighborhood gem, my colleague and I decided to check this place out. Absolutely adorable little house and the inside seating area was comfortable and made you feel like you’re at home. We ordered an appetizer, meal and dessert and the food from start to finish was delicious. The key lime pie IS all it’s hyped up to be!

It was a Sunday evening and there were 2 tables seated when we arrived, that’s it. The gentleman who served us was not very engaged, and seemed polite but not into his job or serving us as it took awhile for him to come over and even say hello (wait he didn’t say hello or welcome). Would have been 5 stars except for service.

Cocktail menu was excellent. Main dishes were plated in a beautiful presentation. Vegetables had interesting and unusual flavors. We had the duck which was delicious. And a final cup of fresh and hot coffee!

South Ocean Grill is truly exceptional! The food here consistently delights the palate, and the ambiance is always inviting and vibrant. The waitstaff are attentive and dedicated, ensuring a pleasant dining experience every time. This place exudes a cozy and intimate charm, making it perfect for a date night. Recently, we explored the outdoor seating area for the first time, and it was absolutely charming! While I typically enjoy their delectable burger, we decided to try a variety of dishes this time, and every single one was outstanding.
