My boyfriend and I went here for breakfast on a weekend away trip. This place was awesome. Cute decor, very friendly wait staff, and yummy food. I recommend the lox bagel, sausage, and pancakes! made me want to be Norwegian 🙂

The minute you walk in, they treat you like family—seat yourself, help yourself to coffee and water. Meatballs and Ham Balls were fabulous, REAL mashed potatoes and fresh made lefse. Also has traditional Norwegian bakery and coffee drunks available at the front of the store. It’s a real gem!

I ordered 2 different items from their menu it wasn’t what I expected it was so much better. They sausage was real not a frozen pre formed patty the eggs were amazing. In my years of eating from restaurants by far my best meal ever

Everything was delicious. I had meatballs and potatoes and a side of a carrot dish that was nice. They also had a very good broccoli soup.

Food was great as always but the service from the kitchen needs some serious improvement. Waited over 30mins to get my food to-go. It doesn’t appear to be likely that management knows how to staff their kitchen appropriately for a weekend morning.

Great little cafe! Had the lefsa breakfast wrap which was delicious, good coffee and very friendly staff. We even got to watch them making lefsa in the kitchen.

The Lefse Lodge Kafe is an unassuming little cafe in Decorah. The inside has a pretty simple layout and a basic “Gramma’s kitchen” kind of style. Both times I’ve visited the staff seemed a little busy and didn’t provide the attentive service I would expect, however everyone was friendly and welcoming. The food I’ve ordered has been pretty basic, but good. It’s worth mentioning that I haven’t ordered some of the more traditional Norwegian food options, which it would seem is the primary aim of the kafe. I believe it’s worth a visit to see what you think for yourself, and to try some Norwegian staples.

Had a very tasty lunch. We ordered hamballs with red potatoes, scalloped corn or carrots, lefsa, roll and red potatoes. Excellent food and very attentive service. Lots of norwegian treats too. Bought kringla for later. You need to check this place out!

The food was excellent. The staff were so nice with our toddler and offered him samples of the kringla and lefse. Both were delicious.
