Ok…so I ordered a couple of things to try for the 1st time at Lee’s southern kitchen. I got the cheeseburger poboy w/ cajun fries, 6 piece breaded and fried wings w/ crab seasoning, w/ a side of hushpuppies and an order of boudin egg rolls w/ a side of remoulade sauce. Before I get into the food, let me just say that the customer service was very good and the place was nice and clean with the music at the right volume and the type of music that any age or race would enjoy to listen to. Now to the food..I choose the hamburger poboy because I’m from Washington DC, and alot of restaurants sell cheeseburger subs and they’re DELICIOUS depending on where you go, so when I saw they had a cheeseburger poboy, I was excited to possibly have something that would remind me of my hometown. It wasn’t even close. I know there’s a difference between poboy bread and sub bread but I atleast expected it to be some what close. The bread on the poboy was WAY to thick (Like 6 inches thick) for the 2 smashed patties on it ( that was maybe an inch thick with both patties). The meat was ok but again too thin for the very thick bread. It was like the bread sucked out any juciness that would have been in the meat, so it was very dry. The semi thick crinkled cajun fries were ok, but for some reason the potato was dry even though they were fried fresh. The breaded wings were DELICIOUS. The wings were PERFECTLY breaded and fried and the crab seasoning was just the right amount. The young guy at the counter told me they are his favorite flavor and I can see why. The hushpuppies were decent..The boudin egg rolls were ok..they were kind of dry and not alot of flavor, but I don’t think I’d try it again, even as the regular ball. The remoulade sauce was ok, just tasted like old bay mayo. But I still want to go back and try other things like their collards, mac n cheese and the catfish Pontchartrain, which is catfish (fried or grilled) topped with a crayfish sauce on top w/ dirty or white rice. All in all..no bad, just meh, at this point till I try the rest..but those breaded wings though!!..YUM!

The food was great! I don’t always write a review but this time I had to. I placed my order online and along with the other food I ordered, I ordered 6 wings all flats. When I got back home I noticed that I did not receive all flats but it was no big deal, so I didn’t give it a second thought. Some number kept ringing my phone and did not leave a message and I usually don’t answer numbers I don’t recognize, but I decided to pick up and it was LEE’S on the phone telling me they were going to refund my wings because they noticed they did not include all flats in my order. That was a pleasant surprise and a rarity in my experience for a business to reach out to me and make that much effort to correct a mistake. I was going to be back anyway but you definitely have a repeat customer as long as I’m in the area. Bravo.

Food was really good and they gave you plenty to have enough for leftovers! My wife had catfish, and they were very large portions compared to what we’re used to getting from that other sea food place that is more expensive! So that was a very nice surprise!

We order the catfish basket with macaroni, and greens, a side of red beans and rice. My husband loved the Pastalaya. The place was clean and the employees were very pleasant.
