Great atmosphere here. They keep everything looking pristine. The seats were actually comfortable to sit it which is something I feel most places down prioritize. We got the turkey croissant roll sandwich and honestly thought it would be something small to share since we were more thirsty and hungry, but this thing is HUGE its definitely a great stop for a quick bite though! The Thai Tea is more milk than tea, but i still found it enjoyable.

I stopped by Lee’s Sandwiches in Chandler because I was at Walgreens around the corner and it was right there. I am a sandwich guy and I love Asian food, so I figured this would be a solid move.

The place itself looks cool. It has that bodega style ordering area with packaged Asian snacks and drinks, which gives it character. It smelled great walking in. They offer dine in, and it definitely seems like a well known spot. There were plenty of customers and a lot of Asian families eating there, so it clearly has a loyal following and has probably been around for a while.

That said, the food just did not hit for me.

I ordered a grilled chicken sandwich, and honestly they did not hook it up. There was very little chicken and way more vegetables than protein. The baguette bread was actually really good, probably the best part of the sandwich, but the lack of grilled chicken made it disappointing overall.

I also ordered chicken nuggets and spring rolls. Unfortunately those were not good at all in my opinion. The flavor just was not there.

One thing that stood out was the coffee. I ended up with a hot Lee’s original coffee that I thought came with the sandwich, but later when I checked my receipt I saw I had been charged for it. That part was frustrating. The coffee itself was actually really good, sweet and flavorful, probably with creamer and sugar added. Ironically it was the one thing I did not mean to order, and it ended up being the highlight.

I spent over forty dollars because I was really hungry and ordered extra to take home, but overall it was not worth it for me. Most of the menu leans heavily toward chicken and pork. I am not big on pork, and the Euro Asian style of preparation just is not really my preference. That does not mean it is bad across the board, it just was not my cup of tea.

If you are into cooked pork items or this specific style of Vietnamese or Euro Asian sandwiches, you might enjoy it. It clearly works for a lot of people. Just double check your receipt and maybe do not over order if you are starving like I did.

For me, it was a letdown. I wanted to love it, but it just did not deliver the way I hoped. You might have a different experience, but I left disappointed.

We visited Lee’s Sandwiches located at 1901 W. Warner Rd #8 in Chandler, Arizona on a Thursday, a little before noon. My wife ordered #14, which is a pork sandwich on a Baguette and I ordered #22 which is a turkey sandwich on a Baguette. This restaurant does not sell soft drinks, so my wife ordered an iced coffee and I ordered a carbonated mango drink in a can. The total was $29.36. Our sandwiches and my wife’s coffee were prepared fresh and the wait time was only a few minutes while we waited for several orders ahead of us to be served. We both enjoyed our sandwiches and my wife reported that her coffee was good. The carbonated mango drink I ordered was OK, but I would have preferred a Pepsi. Some of the tables were in need of a wipe down. They weren’t overly messy, but had numerous crumbs on them. The restaurant was otherwise clean. The restroom was in pretty good shape, but I found it strange that the stall did not have a lock on it. Much to my horror, the first flush did not remove most of the items needing to be flushed. The second flush was also ineffective. I tried to flush a third time, but the toilet did not want to flush. I tried about 15 times and finally, it provided a complete and thorough flush. The food here is pretty good, but consistent with other restaurants, is getting pricey compared to how it used to be.

I normally don’t post this negative of a review but my recent experience here was terrible. I ordered a sandwich and a frozen drink and it was $19 which is a pretty steep price to pay for lunch. Then I saw they made my drink and sat in on the counter and I waited for my order to be called. 30 minutes went by and nothing. After several people after me got their order I asked about mine and they said they were still working on it. Then finally 5 minutes later I got my food. But unfortunately by then my drink had completely melted and was no longer frozen. And on top of that my sandwich had the tiniest amount of meat on there I’ve ever seen. It was all bread and vegetables with a single thin layer of shaved bbq pork on there. Sad because I used to really love this place but with food and service like that I won’t be returning any time soon.

The sandwiches and coffee are great. I can’t eat the ordered spring veggie rolls- they gave me a package that looks like it was pulled out of a dumpster and they smelled strange. Their ability to use technology, answer questions and/or fix problems with their app and computer inside are not so great. Don’t use the app, it’s terrible. Just call to order, and when you get there make sure they remembered it. Again, the sandwiched a re great.

Terrible !!Terrible!! Terrible!! Do not go to this place it’s completely over priced. The sandwiches are not good they give single slice of meat in the sandwich for 12$ on top of that the bread was dry. Totally got scammed and it’s not worth going subway is even better than this. 50$ for two drinks chips and sandwich!! Outrageous. Do better.

It’s been a while since my last visit before the COVID situation. The bread they use for the sandwiches can be a bit tough, but the other Lee Sandwich locations in California are fantastic and much gentler on my mouth. Perhaps the one in Chandler uses a different recipe. Today, I’m here because my Vietnamese client suggested meeting at this spot.

Positives:
– Both the pork and chicken pies were absolutely delicious, with a lovely flaky texture that was a delight to savor.
– The Vietnamese Iced Coffee was simply divine, a real treat that I thoroughly enjoyed.
– The breakfast sandwich was a delight, with perfectly cooked bacon and eggs that hit the spot just right.

Areas for Improvement:
– While the Vietnamese Iced Coffee was tasty, it had a bit too much ice for my liking. Considering the price of $5.99, I believe they could be a bit more generous with the coffee.
– The croissant in the breakfast sandwich was a tad too hard, which detracted a bit from the overall experience.

Overall, I had a pleasant experience, and I might consider revisiting in the future, especially if my clients prefer this spot for meetings.

YUMMY sandwiches! The bread is solid and ingredients blend well together. I like that the cilantro and marinated vegetables are plentiful to top off the sandwiches. Have been here multiple times and overall would like to see a bit more meat. Overall delicious though, one of the best Vietnamese sandwich places around. Love the coffee drinks. The iced honey green tea I ordered this time was good but overly sweet. Service is usually fast and efficient, restaurant is generally clean and tidy.
