Reviews
Upon walking in, there was an aroma that was not appetising. I thought it was just a specific dish, but it didn’t change. The walls, tables, and ceiling were more than greasy. The interior had very few tables.
The wait staff were watching cartoons and barely attentive, it took literally 10 minutes of waiting at the register to pay the bill, even after getting the attention of one of the kitchen staff.
The Curry Chicken was just onion, curry sauce, and a tiny bit of chicken. The Kung Pao Chicken tasted like a freezer and had peas and carrots that came from a frozen bag.
The dining experience could have been improved by warming water and dumping it in one of the ramen cups.
I do not leave 1 star reviews…this one earned it.
We went here for the first time and almost didn’t go in to place an order. The building is falling apart on the outside and looks like a closed down old night club.
Inside, the place reeked of moldy carpet. Carpeting is worn, dated and filthy. Seating area is closed off due to a collapsing ceiling that has a tarp strung up and buckets everywhere to catch falling water.
Since we had kids with us, we ordered anyway. Take out was of course the only option.
We ordered egg rolls, shrimp lo mein, chicken fried rice, bbq pork with broccoli, and beef chow mein. The order was for large sizes on all.
The man who took the order had been sitting under the tarp with his feet up and sighed loudly when we approached the counter. He told us it would be at least 45 minutes and that we should go walk around to kill time.
Ok fine. We walked up to Hugo’s supermarket, about three blocks away. Bought sodas. Walked around for a little bit and came back. Order still not ready, we sat and waited. The children, beings kids, were stating that this place needed a Gordan Ramsey intervention badly.
We finally got our food and took it home only to find everything we were given was a small size, not a large. Whatever.
The food was tasteless. The shrimp was tough and rubbery and no one would eat it. The bbq pork with broccoli was not bbq at all. It had some sort of gravy on it that was bland, flavorless and gross. The beef chow mein had the same sauce as the pork. There was no chicken fried rice, only a small box of plain white rice. The egg rolls did not taste like they were made on site. I have bought frozen Pagoda egg rolls for the kids many times and guess what these so called fresh egg rolls tasted like?
All in all, this place should be closed down. Kids felt queasy after eating this food, and I myself could feel my stomach not feeling right. We’re probably lucky we didn’t end up with food poisoning.
How these guys’ doors are still open is beyond me. Never again!
