We Just Dined at the Most Expensive Celebrity Cruises Restaurant
Reviews
It is perhaps the only restaurant on the ship without any windows. I felt like I was on a 1960s Star Trek television show set!
We were not told when we booked the dining package that in addition to the service charge to attend the restaurant, there is an additional $20 up charge for a person just to walk in the door and order off the menu, and then a 20% tip on top of that. To be fair, the waiter, who I could not understand, did explain that policy, but it did not make sense at the time.
If you want mediocre food for a price, then an up charge to that price, then a gratuity on the up charge, go to Le Voyage. Otherwise, two other specialty restaurants on the Celebrity Beyond are fantastic and FAR superior…Fine Cut Steakhouse and Eden.
I have dined at multiple specialty restaurants on multiple cruise ships. Le Voyage is dead last in terms of cost and quality of food. I will never dine there again.
I rarely write reviews, but I felt that I had to in this instance to warn other unsuspecting cruise passengers. Even the gentleman at the guest services desk said there were a lot of complaints about this hidden policy.
