Gourmethimmel.

Reviews
The tartare is divine, the fish is outstanding, and all the seafood is incredibly fresh and flavorful. The staff is very friendly — and, by the way, they haven’t changed for many years, which is another big plus for the restaurant’s consistency.
I can only highly recommend this place to everyone! ✨
They have degustation menu as well if you are a foodie. Good fish options are recommended to try.
The service was a bit slow, despite the place was not busy, maybe because they spend time with good preparation. I liked that the plates are pre-warmed so the dish can stay longer warm.
What truly made the evening exceptional was the staff. They were incredibly kind, gracious, and attentive, making us feel welcomed and cared for in a way that’s rare even in fine dining. Their warmth and expertise turned a wonderful meal into a truly special occasion. I can’t recommend Le Salzgries enough—it’s a must-visit in Vienna.
I really recommend the restaurant, it was a very pleasant experience, will definitely go there again.
The food was delicious and they have very good wines and the desserts make you want to order them again.
Tried several Michelin star cuisines, especially in Belgium, without exxagerating, this was really the worst fine dining experience of my life and I will prove that with pictures and facts.
With my wife and 2y old son we entered the restaurant and we were given a place at floor -1 in a forgotten corner (although we had a reservation 5-6 weeks in advance).
Our menu was:
– cheese mixture
– onion soup
– foie gras
– small portion of beef tartare
– Simmentaler filet
Some detailed facts:
– because I was on floor -1, my mobile reach was insufficient and I asked for the wifi code, they said that there was no wifi while i could see LESG wifi network on the list, so that was the first lie, until the end I had zero reach on my phone 8while this is important for me as being surgeon), the waiter was not friendly and treated us as tourists who will never come again.
– the cheese mixture was a plate of 5 different chees but in extremely small portions (even in fine dining terms)
– floor -1 was too hot and there was airconditioning working, also no background music, zero atmophere
– the foie gras we received was of poor quality, may be because I tried much more better quality foie gras in other restaurants, this had a so neutral taste.
– could you believe that there was no salt or pepper on the table, really incredible
– our glass of wine was empty and again and again the waiter forgot to fill our glass, so we did our selve, this is also un imaginable for a so called fine dining restaurant
– the filet with bearnaise was so bad, the meat was so far may be ok but the bearnaise sauce tasted as being from the regular shop beside, and the worst of all: the french fries were a disaster, , will upload a picture of the french fries which was the top scandal of our eveing, even in a mcdonalds you don’t get so overburned french fries, shame on you Salzgries
– in the middle of the service, the waiters changed because probably there were much more imporant local guests arriving in the restaurant.
+ the only good thing was the beef tartare on our menu and also the wine (Saint Nicolas de Bourgueil, Sauvion)
This restaurant even don’t deserve one star rating, really not, it is a shame that this restaurant classifies itself as fineding.
Be aware as tourist: you will not be treated as you deserve, go eat in a mcdonalds, and you will get even better french fries, such a waste of money. I will post my review on every possible review page.
