This is an iconic place in Paris and definitely a must visit to try the famous meat with the sauce and fries. We arrived before opening (25 minutes) and suddenly the line start outside (like 10 minutes before opening). The place inside is really nice and small so we have to seat side by side. The menu is basic, bread, salad, meat (with the secret sauce) and fries. The meat was super soft and the sauce is really good. This place is about history and flavor. We really enjoyed and also this is the second location of this restaurant that we visited (Ciudad de Mexico was the first). Also we noticed they are building a new location near Marche Sainte Honore (near Cedric Grolet places).

To start, we waited about 20 minutes in line as a group of 3. Took about 15 minutes before the waitress asked us how we wanted our steak while we got served a sad lettuce salad with literally just mustard as a dressing and some walnuts on top. Waiting about another 15 minutes for our food.

Each plate was literally 4 pieces of medium well to well done steak when we asked for medium, along with semi stale fries and a mid sauce. Second serving came around and it was even more disappointing. Another 4 pieces of lukewarm steak for each of us (yay…) more well done than before. Steak itself was bland and extremely mediocre at best without the sauce. And the sauce itself was alright. Just tasted like olive oil, mustard and herbs, I feel like I could make something better at home.
I don’t know if there was any discrimination but I looked around and it seems like customers who were French received more steak than we did.
In summary, it’s about 30 euros per person for some lettuce, 8 pieces of bland, oily steaks and sometimes stale fries. Would not recommend to say the least.

One to tick off the bucket list in Paris. We lined up about 45mins before opening, so we were at the front of the queue. No description needed as you know what is being served. Salad, bread, steak and chips came out super fast. Very efficient and friendly service. The sauce on the steak was top notch. Don’t forget to order desserts. Lovely lunch!

Overhyped restaurant. Despite being famous, they don’t bother investing in any reservation system, letting people standing in line for hours. When they let us in, we have to squeeze in between other tables. There was literally no space between our table and others. In order to get out from our seats, we have to push the table out to make some space. Obviously they were trying to pack as many as customers in their limited space. Not a pleasant dining experience at all. The service was poor due to so many customers. It was very hard to call the servers. The steak was okay. Not the best and not the worst. I can find this flavor somewhere else and not having to wait for so long like this place. One visit is enough for me.

this is the most famous streak frites place in all of paris. lines are long so be prepared to wait. we arrived 15 minutes before opening so we didn’t have to wait but by the time we left, the line was at least an hour long.

steak is nothing to write home about. the cut is clearly cheap. the restaurant focuses on scale rather than experience. for the price point – can’t blame them.

i would recommend visiting but don’t expect a good steak. albeit, it’s still better than all of the other steak frites places in paris. due to this, it’s a solid 4/5.

A must-visit when coming to France. You may have to wait up to 30 minutes, but it is absolutely worth it. I ordered my steak medium and the first serving was cooked perfectly. The second serving did cook through a bit more than I preferred, but the flavour was still amazing and the overall experience more than made up for it.

Their dessert selection is also surprisingly vast, and everything tastes great. From start to finish, the quality, atmosphere, and consistency make this place a standout. I would definitely come back and highly recommend it to anyone visiting.

Finally I got to scratch off from my list this location. Everything about it was splendid! To only have basically one dish and all that sells is amazing!

No description needed since you know what’s being served – salad, bread, steak and chips. The sauce was killer and the desserts were amazing!

We literally waited for at least an hour, which was pretty boring. But I think it was worth it. I really enjoyed the Café de Paris sauce, and the fries were also delicious—you can even ask for more fries for free. The salad they serve at the beginning was nice as well. I’m not sure if I would wait another hour on my next trip, but I’m glad I tried it.

Get there early! We arrived on a Sunday night 20 minutes before the doors opened. There were about eight people in front of us (we were a party of two) and people began to gather quickly. They can seat a fair number of people inside but there will eventually be a wait any night and it gets so long.

I liked this simplistic menu. We were asked how we wanted our steak cooked – medium for both of us – and what we wanted to drink – verre de vin rouge for both. We had a light salad, bread and then the steak and fries arrived. The fries were fried perfectly and the steak was cooked as ordered. The sauce on the steak was a nice tough without being too heavy. We both had a second portion of meat and that was filling. J’ai bien mangé! I’d definitely return to dine there again. Try the homemade profiteroles for dessert, too!

Well, this restaurant used to be one of the best around Palais des Congrès. Sadly, the service quality has diminished slowly to the tune of “I’m too good for you”… You can’t blame them considering the still long waiting line.
First, the waitresses kept mixing up our drinks orders. Then the table seated 10 minutes after us got served starters first… My request for butter was met with a stern reply: “on n’a pas de beurre!” (there’s no butter! ). The salad was bland with hardly any dressing. The meat was thankfully tender but is reduced to 5 thin slices…
I wonder if we even get 100g in total for 30€ euros.
Do yourself a favor, there are better options elsewhere with good service too
