Best lamb I’ve ever had, best (french) onion soup I’ve ever had, top 3 crème brûlée ever.
If you’re coming to Paris, this restaurant is a must add to the itinerary.
Despite Visiting during the off-season in the middle of November, The restaurant was full and we were fortunate to snag the final empty table when we arrived at about 130 on a Thursday. If they were this busy during a cold and windy November day, I can’t imagine how busy They’d be during the busy season.
We both had the onion soup appetizer, which was tasty and really hit the spot For a cold and blustery day(It even snowed a little bit during the meal!)
But the entrées were the star of the show.
I had the boeuf bourguignon and my dining companion had the Travers De porc laque miel, cuit basse temperature frites maison(honey glazed pork ribs)
Both were exquisitely prepared, hearty portioned And brought home the perfect comfort meal that we were looking for.
As far as the pricing, after tip(Yes, it’s good to tip servers in Europe if your experience is exemplary) it was about 100€ Which might seem a little expensive. However, for the quality, portions and the high rent neighborhood it really is reasonable and we will happily go back the next time we visit.
We thank the entire staff for giving us an amazing experience!
We ordered the onion soup, tender beef stew bourguignon and traditional duck confit
The duck confit was more sweet but it wasn’t bad
The onion soup was very unique. We ordered it despite reading a lot of bad reviews on it but it ended up tasting good
My personal favourite was the beef stew
The waitress was very kind
The restaurant is a bit cramped
Bustling yet peaceful, indoor and outdoor tables available (October). The staff were incredibly friendly and so helpful.
The food? Incredible!
The French onion soup was deeply flavoured and garnished with a beautifully nutty gruyère, and the escargot were served in a light yet flavoursome sauce, accompanied by a touch of seasonal salad and traditional bread.
For mains, the salad of ham, figs, walnuts and soft blue cheese was an absolute treasure trove of flavours (also VERY big! – I may order the smaller version next time), whereas as the beef bourguigon was slow-cooked, meltingly soft and utterly beyond compare.
Amazing and well worth the cost, which was excellent for the prices charged.
€90 for two starters, bread, two mains, table water and a beautiful glass of rich, deep red wine.
