I was tempted to give this place five stars, but in reality if this were any other restaurant, the meal itself wouldn’t warrant five starts. To no surprise, the atmosphere is the primary attraction here – and rightfully so. It is a beautiful setting and truly a unique place to dine. The food, while not amazing, is still good. The service was perfectly acceptable, and all the waitstaff are used to tourists flocking to this place. For appetizers we got the Jamon and Octopus. The Jamon was AMAZING with a generous portion. While the octopus was very good, the portion was lacking and it felt like they tried to compensate by adding unnecessary elements to the dish (random heart of romaine lettuce that no one would eat?). For main courses, I got the chicken dish. It was fine, but nothing memorable honestly and I wouldn’t order it again. My wife got the sea bass, which she loved. Overall, my experience was defined by the cool setting and amazing view, to no surprise, which is where this place excels. From a culinary perspective, there are much better choices.

Came here for my birthday lunch and enjoyed the food and views.

Originally had a reservation for 1:30, but was early and was able to be seated.

The food and was good, we got the truffle pasta with the chicken supreme. Both were very flavourful and delicious.

I absolutely loved my time at this place! The location in Nice is absolutely beautiful, and the food was delicious. What really made the experience was the staff—they were so friendly and helpful from start to finish. A quick heads-up: make sure you book a table for the restaurant ahead of time, because it gets busy. The bar, however, is open to everyone without a reservation. Honestly, if you’re in Nice, you have to go here. It’s perfect for the food and the incredible scenery.

Hands down one of the most uniquely located restaurants in Nice, perched dramatically above the sea, it offers an absolutely stunning ambiance that sets the tone for a memorable evening.

Our meal got off to a slow start both in terms of the starters and the service. We ordered the tuna sashimi and the grilled octopus, and unfortunately, both were underwhelming. The flavors didn’t quite deliver, and given the restaurant’s reputation, we expected more. Olives in the octopus dish for example made it way more salty and underwhelmed the grilled taste altogether and as well the octopus had a more after taste to it.

There was also a noticeable delay in receiving our entrees, which tested our patience a bit. However, when the food finally arrived, it was well worth the wait. The rigatoni was rich and full of flavor, and the sea bass was perfectly cooked along with the other veggies though the olives could have been done away with from the dish, fresh, delicate, and beautifully plated.

Lucas, our host, was truly fantastic, friendly, professional, and attentive throughout the evening. His service made a big difference in our overall experience.

To finish, we shared a lemon tart, and it was flawless bright, tangy, and a perfect ending to the meal.

In summary, despite the slow service and disappointing starters, the incredible setting, excellent mains, delicious dessert, and outstanding service from Lucas made it a night to remember. Worth visiting, just come with a bit of patience and choose your dishes carefully.

What you’re really paying for here is the view and the ambiance. It is lovely, on the water, romantic, and the food is certainly enjoyable, but perhaps not on par with its pricing. We had the zucchini blossom fritters (delicious), the tuna sashimi (not great) as appetizers, and the beef fillet and truffle rigatoni as entrees. Both main courses were delicious, but again not necessarily worth the premium you’re paying for the location. Nevertheless, I recommend the experience for a special date night or event dinner.

We booked a reservation well in advance, hoping to enjoy the beautiful view with some afternoon drinks. Upon arrival, we learned that the upper restaurant seating requires ordering meals. No problem—the manager was very accommodating and kindly directed us to the lower-level bar area, which we ended up preferring since the view there was even better.

I had a local beer that was crisp and refreshing, while my girlfriend’s cocktail was generous in size and well made.

The staff were all incredibly friendly and attentive, which made the experience even more enjoyable.

Highly recommend this spot for both the view and the service!

Wow what an incredible dining experience. Location and setting of the restaurant is just stunning! The staff were friendly and attentive. Gave excellent recommendations which we went with and so glad we did! We had the sea bass and sea bream fish dishes and they exceeded our expectations. Gorgeous flavours across both meals, fish cooked to perfection and we shared a bottle of rosé which was just beautiful. We opted for some dessert it was the ice chocolate truffle dessert and it was deliciously rich and creamy. Unlike anything we’ve eaten before. Truly outstanding restaurant and dining experience. A must do whilst in Nice!

Our lunch was a truly unique experience and one we’ll remember for a long time. The setting offered absolutely amazing views, creating the perfect backdrop for a relaxed afternoon.

The staff were warm and welcoming, making us feel right at home while also providing excellent service. The food was delicious, full of fresh flavors, and paired beautifully with their impressive wine selection.

It was the kind of place where you can slow down, savor the moment, and really enjoy both the cuisine and the atmosphere. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a memorable lunch with stunning views.

Hands down one of the best dining experiences in all of France. Le Plongeoir offers a truly unique setting — perched above the sea with panoramic views of the Mediterranean that are absolutely breathtaking. The atmosphere is magical, especially at sunset, and the sound of the waves below adds a special touch you won’t find anywhere else.

The food is outstanding — beautifully presented, fresh, and full of flavor. Highlights included the beef filet and the sashimi along with the sea bass — all cooked to perfection. The wine list is excellent as well, with top regional selections.

A special mention to Cyril, who provided exceptional service from start to finish. He was warm, professional, and incredibly knowledgeable — his attention to detail made the entire evening seamless and memorable.

If you’re in Nice, Le Plongeoir is an absolute must. A perfect combination of stunning views, refined cuisine, and world-class service. Worth every moment.
