Le Pichet is one of those places where the experience makes far more sense once you understand what it’s aiming to emulate (at least what I think they’re going for). I’d seen reviews calling out the service, and after dining here, I can see how that impression forms. But if you’ve ever eaten in France proper, the approach at Le Pichet is, somewhat ironically, very French: welcoming but never pressing, relaxed rather than rushed, and built around the idea that you’re here to linger, enjoy your meal, and savor the company you’re with. It’s a rhythm all its own, and once you settle into it, the entire experience feels intentional and refreshing.

The menu leans fully into a French farmhouse sensibility, and their charcuterie is a standout strength. Cured meats, fresh baguette, rich aiolis, and generous butter had me happily starting my day in the most indulgent way possible. Not every element transported me straight to Provence, but enough did that I found myself briefly whisked away.

The interior matches the vibe: rustic, vintage, and cozy, the kind of space that invites you to slow down whether you planned to or not.

If you’re seeking classic French comfort with an unhurried spirit, Le Pichet is absolutely worth a visit.

Wonderful as usual! Small but perfect and wide ranging wine list; muscadet and crémant de Loire were delicious. Authentic French bistro vibes and food.

Wonderful little bistro with outdoor seating options, My wife got a fish dish that she said was very good, and I had a cheese plate (WI Cheese head!) and we shared a meat plate (see photos). All the food (and my wine) was incredible. The baguette was Michelin star worthy.

While recently traveling for Amazon, I had the pleasure of dining at this charming bistro reminiscent of Parisian cafes near Gare du Nord in the 10th Arrondissement. While I was eating alone after trekking a very wet and windy night, this place made me feel very comfortable at the bar. The French onion soup, steak frites, Kronenbourg 1664 blanc, and dessert were delicious. If I get back to Seattle from NY, I’ll visit again.

This is a really small place by Pike Place, but it’s pretty much always packed. Despite getting there around 5:30, we had to wait about an hour just
for two bar seats.

The meal started off with baguette & butter, which they give for free. It was pretty good, although I wish the butter had been salted. Also nice of them to give us more after finishing the first set.

We ended up getting the roast chicken for two, which took about an hour from order to service. The way this worked is each of us got a plate with a couple chicken pieces in a kind-of gravy. I got a leg & thigh piece.
I’d say the chicken was quite good. The skin was very crispy, and the inside was pretty juicy. Since it’s dark meat, it’s easy to not overcook, but they didn’t make any major mistakes there.

The squash-based sauce was probably the best part, though. It was super tomato-forward, and acted as a wonderful complement to the chicken.

We also got a chocolate mousse dessert, which was also decent. The cookie was a nice touch, but the whipped cream was odd.

This was pretty expensive. In total it came out about $50 per person, coupled with two glasses of wine along with the chicken.

Overall, I’m not sure the wait (both to get in, and the food) is worth it when there’s a ton of other good options around this area, but it does serve pretty good food. 8.25/10

Chicken was okay in my opinion, a bit dry inside and too salty on the outside. Chicken liver was great and the rest of the charcuterie board was awesome. The real star is the dessert cream and hot chocolate – must get!!

We had such a great dinner! We were able to get in before our 8:30 reservation. We ordered the chicken upon sitting down and liesurely tried the meats, the peppers and the Bibb salads. Jim, the owner, was our server and his recommendations were fabulous.

Such a lovely little spot. If I ever imagine myself owning a restaurant it would be a little beauty like this one. Staff is warm, kind, and straightforward. We had cheese and meat to start. Beautiful wines (I adore the assortment of sizes you can order). The most beautifully cooked salmon I have ever had. Just the best.

A charming and authentic French restaurant tucked near Pike Place Market.

We’ve visited twice for brunch and had a wonderful experience each time. The menu changes with the seasons, which makes every visit exciting and fresh. Highlights for us included the freshly squeezed orange juice, the flavorful sardine sandwich, and the delightful petite charcuterie board. The duck pâté is an absolute must-try, and the seasonal soup was light, balanced, and delicious.

The service is warm and welcoming. The staff are not only friendly but also very knowledgeable—they offered thoughtful recommendations and excellent pairing suggestions.

Overall, a fantastic dining experience. We’ll definitely be coming back
