Hard to believe my eyes, so I took photos as proof (with close-ups of each): this restaurant’s menu in French says, “Prix net service compris” which is the law in France, meaning the service (or tip, as we call it in English) is included in the price of the meal. However the English menu clearly says, “Tips not included” in the same spot where it should say “Service included”. The recent series in Le Parisien shows all the ways tourists are being ripped off in Paris, but this is so blatant it’s laughable. Do they really think no one notices? Or do they just think we’re imbeciles?

Note: I never leave Google reviews, good or bad; but this was just far too disturbing to let go.

PS: Replying to the owner’s response here. If you really believe this to be true: “The English wording is indeed awkward, and we sincerely regret that this may have caused confusion. This is in no way intended to charge extra or mislead anyone.” Then you would have written in the English version, “15% Service included, extra tips appreciated.” But you know in America “tip” and “service” is the same thing, so when the French say “Tips not included” they think the staff won’t be paid if they don’t leave a tip. I support many small restaurants in your neighborhood, and none of them have this shameful text on their menus (I checked).

A nice and simple place for dinner, there’s the typical French fare here. We had steak frite, the portion is just nice if you’re a smaller eater. Steaks were cooked well with perfect seasoning, but the fries were a little soggy. Bread is served without butter too.

The atmosphere is quite quiet on weekday dinner, good to have a more peaceful setting. The seating is small and with very minimalistic decor.

A fairy disappointing dinner experience for me.
Their French onion soup is not my cup of tea. I could only had a few spoons then I decided to give it up and wasted the cost of $12 euros. The fish and vegetables is Okay. Fish is fresh and has a delicate texture. Vegetables are soggy and mushy which are not that pleasant. It reminds me of food for very old people who can’t chew properly.
The restaurant was very quiet and a customer left this restaurant with every plate he ordered almost still full. He didn’t like them and looked fairly unimpressed.
I wouldn’t recommend this restaurant to my friends.

Solidly average and nothing special. Had the cod special and fries, and a coffee frappe. Wouldn’t come back for the food / drink alone but appreciated it being on a quiet side street in a busy neighborhood. Bathroom is a unique situation too… best avoided if you’re a standard American size (read large).

Had the frog’s legs (for the first time) and enjoyed them, followed by a really good blue steak with frites. We all enjoyed the food in what was a haunt of Serge Gainsborough (and I’m guessing Jane Birkin) and Satre too. Would recommend.

I love this place. It’s like your favorite little diner or homestyle family restaurant. I’ve always ordered extremely classic dishes. This visit was Onion soup and Beef Bourgignon with a half bottle of Bordeaux. Nicely attentive waitstaff and great crowd. Not too crowded on a Thursday evening, and you can make an online reservation. I was able to pay with a credit card, which surprised me based on reviews. I don’t know when they made that change.
