Had a gorgeous little visit to Le Petit Chateau Cafe with the husband and honestly, it’s a pocket-sized French escape right in the CBD.

The whole place has charm. Beautiful fit-out, interesting little details everywhere, and even the cutlery felt unique and oddly exciting to use. It’s one of those spots where you actually look around between bites because there’s cool stuff to take in.

Food was cooked well and tasted just as good as it looked (check the photos they do it justice, but perhaps the egg could be a little bit less cooked in a “Benny”). Everything felt thoughtfully done.

Staff were respectful, attentive and genuinely polite throughout. No attitude, no rush, just smooth service.

Only downside? Price. It’s on the higher side for a café. But to be fair, it leans into that luxury French café vibe, and it delivers on the experience.

Bonus: there are some really cute local stores nearby, so it’s an easy spot to build a nice little morning or afternoon around.

Polished, pretty, delicious. Would happily go again.

I visited Le Petit Chateau inside Block Arcade, and it was a lovely experience. The café has a beautiful French-inspired atmosphere — perfect for relaxing or taking photos.

The coffee art was impressive, and both the coffee and the crepes were delicious. Even though the place was quite busy, the service was surprisingly fast and friendly, which I really appreciated.

The prices are a little on the higher side, but the overall ambience and quality made it worth the visit. I’d definitely come back again, especially for their crepes and the charming vibe.

Le Petit Chateau is a cozy cafe located in the beautiful Block Arcade. We went at a busy time and got seated in a corner area but still loved the atmosphere.
If you are dining here I would recommend having one of the servers take your order rather than using the online ordering system as one of my orders never processed, my friend was unable to order and we had to ask for one of our drinks (bottled soda) since the rest of our order had already arrived. This wasn’t the fault of the staff—they were very sweet and made sure they helped us immediately, but just in case, would suggest ordering normally.

Vaness Smoked Salmon Baguette — 8.2/10
Overall a very delicious and well-balanced baguette. They are very generous with the fillings and the flavours complement each other marvellously. The baguette is perfection as well, toasted to perfection.

☕️ Long black — 7/10
Not a coffee connoisseur, but the long black here has quite an acidic taste. Still enjoyed it very much.

“Hot chocolate not great!! “This French café makes a strong first impression with its beautifully designed fit-out—stylish, polished, and very much in line with the classic Parisian aesthetic. The atmosphere is relaxed and pleasant, making it an enjoyable place to sit and spend some time, and the service is consistently good: attentive, friendly, and efficient without being intrusive.
However, despite the café’s reputation, the signature chocolate doesn’t quite live up to the setting. It’s decent, but nothing particularly memorable or outstanding, especially for a place that highlights chocolate as a specialty. While it’s still a nice spot to visit for the ambiance and overall experience, those seeking truly exceptional, high-quality chocolate will likely find better options elsewhere

Such a lovely place in the middle of the CBD

The food was great, I loved my baguette and hubby had a crock monsier.

However the coffees were a bit down my expectations they didn’t ask me which size, and I ended up drinking from a glass instead of mug, which is annoying because it’s a hot beverage how can I drink from a glass.

Overall it was a great experience.

Absolutely delightful. We came early morning with the 3 of us for breakfast before catching the plane home and the absolutely amazing gentleman serving us was fast and polite. We waited no more than 3 minutes for some of the best hot chocolates and coffees we have ever had and the server apologised for the wait which was lovely and completely unnecesary as we had barely even sat down. Not to mention the omletes that we got where divine. At first we thought them on the more expensive end but once we got a taste the price was thoroughly justified. Again the wait was incredibley short and we where once more met with incredible customer service. Once we had left i realised i had left my bag and within 2 minutes of us leaving we where back to find it missing. We went inside and the server was once again incredibley polite and had taken my bag aside for safe keeping. All possesions are intact and i am incredibley grateful for his concern for the situation. I will defiently be coming back in the future. Worth ever dollar.

This adorable little cafe has beautiful interiors that feel like a little taste of France. It is a great place for breakfast, lunch or quick coffee. The staff were super friendly and the owner is lovely too.

– The hot chocolate paired with the whipped cream was divine.
– The savoury crepes had a perfect balance of flavours.
– The sweet crepes were the best- Pistachio had to be my favourite.

The crepe and granola were delicious and perfectly cooked and presented. The coffee was ok but the location fantastic.
Definitely worth a visit just for the Block arcade.

Le Petit Chateau Restaurant is a charming little French spot tucked inside the beautiful Block Arcade in the heart of Melbourne. From the moment you walk in, the décor transports you to a Parisian café — elegant, cosy, and incredibly photogenic.

The food is well-presented and full of flavour, especially the crepes and brunch dishes, which are clearly the highlights of the menu. Portions are satisfying, ingredients feel fresh, and the overall quality reflects the care put into each dish. Their coffee pairs perfectly with the food and completes the experience.

Service is friendly and attentive, and despite being a popular spot, the atmosphere remains relaxed and enjoyable. Prices are on the higher side, but the unique setting, ambiance, and quality make it worth it — especially for a special brunch or a catch-up with friends.

Perfect for: brunch dates, coffee lovers, and anyone looking for a stylish French café experience in the city.
