Great addition to Main Street Cedar Falls. Almond Croissant was very good! The toaster pastry was very good! The breakfast burger was good. It has a lot of different flavors going on so it was a little much for our kids but really well thought out combination.

I’ve been here on two occasions. The first was in the morning for coffee and pastries. Let’s be clear, the pastries rock! The lemon tart and chocolate croissant were fantastic! I was also a fan of the pour-over coffee. It was smooth and delicious.

The second time was for lunch. It was a cooler day so I ordered the PB&J and a cup of the French onion soup. The sandwich hit the spot. The soup, however, was disappointing. The broth was clear, lacked that rich flavor, and left a stale aftertaste. I wasn’t able to eat it. It was unlike any French onion soup I’d ever eaten and I wouldn’t recommend it. My friend quite enjoyed the creamed spinach and curds.

I felt like the staff was much friendlier on the first visit than the second. We didn’t even get a smile when we walked to the counter on the second visit.

If you’re in downtown Cedar Falls, I highly recommend dropping in for a pastry.

Today I had the Brussels sprouts plate (not quite sure the exact title) it came out with a lot of flavor! Loved the spread and the perfect texture of the bacon on top mmm, so good! I had some friends visiting from Italy and we all loved our food! I had never been there until today. I loved the atmosphere! Cool lighting and comfy seating! I’ll definitely be back to try more on the menu- there are many palettes that are intriguing. I’ll be excited to try others! Price was very reasonable as well and we got our food in a very reasonable amount of time!

Visited on 8/16/23 between 11:50pm-12:15pm. Formerly the Carter House; This opened back in late July 2023. Food was great & service was friendly. Only downside is pricey. Smash Burger $12, Spinach & Curds $5 & 1 bottle of Soda for $3.50… total came to almost $22.

I tried the Croissanwich, bacon, eggs and cheese sandwich, and tarts here. The sandwiches and bread were delicious, but I was disappointed by the small size, just like my mug. I wouldn’t have been disappointed if they had included a side salad. Also, the tarts were so hard that they were difficult to cut with a knife and to chew.

The pastries are so flaky and delicious! For some reason the coffee wasn’t my favorite but everything else was amazing.

My now husband and I went here on 9/13/24. We had the bacon, egg, and cheese with a croissant. It would be nice to know that the bacon egg and cheese was a breakfast sandwich for $8.50. It was VERY salty. It wasn’t bad but needs some work. Also, they didn’t ask how we wanted the egg (over easy, done, etc). Definitely can improve on communication and labeling the menu better. Now the croissant was AMAZING! It was soft, flaky, buttery. The best I’ve ever had. Overall it was meh. I’d for sure go back for bakery items, but as for hot food… I’ll pass. Definitely coming back for those croissants!!

My husband and I stopped in hoping to find a quaint French bakery atmosphere and pastries. The pastries all looked wonderful and the two that we chose were very nice. We didn’t stay and there was only one person seated.
The staff was pleasant with us, but not engaging – which would have warmed the experience a bit more.
The reason we didn’t stay and have a coffee with our pastries is that it was cold, not only in temperature, but in the atmosphere. It echoes, the seats are not cushioned. They could use a flower vase here and there and some casual cafe music ( or French) playing. Maybe some books lining the walls or something to give it character. I want to see this little bakery succeed, but it needs to become an enticing destination as well as offering beautiful, delicious food. Some lunch sandwiches and salads would be a nice addition as well.

Visited a few weeks after open. There was a line to the door, but we got our order in within ten minutes and the food only ten minutes after that. We tried the Madeline’s, Toast with Eggs, Eggs Benny, and Shrimp and Grits. All of the food was good and different for the area! Shrimp and Grits could have been a touch warmer, but it was all cooked and seasoned very well. The atmosphere was very nice and the service was attentive. Our only recommendation is to give the silverware to the customers right after placing the order so we didn’t have to wait for it after getting the food. However we will be going back as all other items we saw come out looked excellent!

So excited a place like this is in Cedar Falls!!! Absolutely fabulous plain croissants– crispy, flaky, perfect. Even better than the ones I had in France. The fruit tart had a delicate pastry shell too…sooo good. I’m already planning an early pastry raid tomorrow. Please, never ever close!
