A great vibe with good food and great staff. First and foremost I feel it’s important to note that they serve dark roast coffee that’s amazeballs. I’m a huge fan of dark roast so that is automatically a green flag in my book. I got the Baja Benedict to eat and for me it was a great choice. The combo works well together and with some chalula on top it made it that much better. I just moved here and I have a lot to try, but as of right now Le Peep (spoken in a sad attempt at French) is my go to breakfast spot.

The entire staff was helpful and friendly! It seems like the world doesn’t have good service anymore and to experience such above and beyond friendliness is such a JOY! The food was MAGNIFICENT. Look at those views! Our brunch started out clear and crisp and then we got to see the 1st snowfall of the season before getting on a plane back to AZ!

Whether you eat an early or late breakfast, you’ll enjoy it here! Service was good, food was good, atmosphere was good, and we took a walk on the boardwalk afterwards!
If you don’t want to get addicted to anything sweet, don’t try the cinnamon roll!!

Wanted to year the family to a good lunch. I was very disappointed. I understand the 25 minute wait for food due to being busy, but the food has no flavor. I had the Cajun chicken sandwich. I had no Cajun flavor at all. The guacamole had more flavor. My son has the smash Burger and the only flavor there was the condiments. I have had better from here before so this was a real disappointment.

Very ordinary food, both the potato, bacon and bread in our meal seemed like it had been pre prepared and been sitting in a cold dish for a few hours. Dry / cold bacon, potatoes. The pancakes were the only thing that looked like they had been cooked to order and they were great. Great view, reasonably friendly staff, but the food at a place like this should be cooked to order.

Le Peep Café – A Satisfying Brunch with Memorable Flavors

We had a lovely brunch at Le Peep Café in Coeur d’Alene, with a few standout dishes and some minor drawbacks that didn’t take away too much from the overall experience.

The highlight of our meal was the Rock Lobster Scramble. The scrambled eggs were perfectly cooked—soft, fluffy, and well-balanced with brie cheese and tender chunks of lobster. The dish was rich, buttery, and indulgent in the best way. It was served on a thick plate, which I believe helped retain heat, keeping the scramble warm until the last bite.

The potato side and bread weren’t quite as impressive—fairly standard and less memorable—but since the scramble was the main attraction, it didn’t feel like a major loss, especially considering the reasonable price point.

We also ordered a grilled trout side, which was cooked to near perfection. The skin was crisp, though it was served skin-down, which can soften the crispiness. I flipped it over right away to preserve the texture, and it held up beautifully. The inside was moist, flavorful, and well-grilled—a true nod to Idaho’s regional specialty. At $9.50 pre-tax and tip, it felt like a fair price for the portion and quality, especially for visitors looking to experience local trout.

The vanilla latte, however, was overly sweet and too milky for our taste. At $6.50, we expected a better balance of coffee and flavor. That said, sweeter lattes may be the norm in smaller towns like Coeur d’Alene, so others may enjoy it more than we did.

Service was friendly and attentive. The owner even came by to check in, which we appreciated. However, we did encounter a sticky table and one dirty cup when we first sat down. While the staff handled it quickly and kindly, it’s worth noting as an area for improvement in overall cleanliness.

Final Thoughts
Le Peep Café offers delicious, thoughtfully-prepared brunch options with standouts like the lobster scramble and grilled trout. While there’s room for improvement on some sides and service details, the flavor, portion size, and warm service made it a spot we’d be happy to return to—especially for anyone exploring Coeur d’Alene and looking to try a local twist on brunch favorites.

You’re not going to find a better view in Coeur d’Alene for enjoying your food. We used to have Le Peep in San Diego but they left long ago. Fantastic food and all we ordered was Gluten free breakfasts for our table. Thank you for the great service as well!
