We asked for recommendations and they mentioned the signature croissants and the signature cheesecakes. We chose the matcha croissant and the blueberries cheesecake.
When we sit and try to cut the croissant, it was hard and I really understand it’s a cold pastry, but it felt like it was made days ago turning the dough into something hard to cut and chewy in your mouth, although the filling was good. Then we tried the cropuff, it was ok, better texture than the croissant and surprisingly they are the same dough, this one was crunchier and flaky than the previous one. Finally the signature blueberry cheesecake, which was ok, the crust was ok, the cheesecake by itself was ok as well, but the best part of it was the blueberries in syrup.
This place looks good, I just felt disappointed with the food because the first thing you see, are the pastries and they look really good, but once you try them, they are way different than what you expected them to be.
Everything on the display case looked so good. I didn’t know what to choose. The lady who helped me was super nice.
I tried:
1. Caramel latte: It was ok, nothing special.
2. Special morning caramel bun: It looked tasty but it was dry. The caramel filling was hard.
3. Crème Brûlée cheesecake: Cheesecake was dry and hard. It felt like it was old and not fresh.
4. Pork adobo empanada: I got this for the whole family to try. They loved that it was big and meaty. The flavor wasn’t overall too powerful. It was more like an adobo flakes kind of consistency and taste which was perfect.
Overall, a great experience. Definitely, worth trying at least once
The ham and cheese croissants needed more filling. Barely had ham or cheese
The good morning bun was perfect
Had all we could do to avoid loading up on desserts.
Also got two excellent cappuccinos.
Place was spotless as well. Just a super find in the nondescript little plaza. It would be a problem if I lived close to this place.
The selection was very enticing and presentation was meticulously done.
The service was very pleasant and quick. I watched the customers come and go quickly with no problems as I sat at my table enjoying my treats.
The pastries I chose were fresh, tasty and not overly sugary. I enjoyed the food very much.
My only negative is all of the mops, buckets and cleaning supplies left out in customers view. This is basic business presentation 101 and costs one star.
I would return to this place again and again if I were a local.
