Social Profile:

We’re a Belgian bakery and restaurant serving simple, wholesome and seasonal food. Le Pain Quotidien means “the daily bread” in French, and like our name suggests, we’re bakers at heart. Although our handmade, organic bread is how we got our start, we serve a variety of healthy options like organic coffee, pastries, eggs, tartines, soups, salads and desserts. At Le Pain Quotidien, we believe that food should be simple, nourishing and delicious. That’s why we source ingredients that are local or organic whenever possible. We also believe in the importance of eating a healthy, plant-based diet, so you’ll find many vegetarian or vegan options on our menu.

Classic light fare & organic breads fill out the menu at this rustic-chic bakery/cafe chain.

The interior of the restaurant is beautiful, and the people who work here are so friendly and welcoming

I had a Egg Cheddar Avocado Breakfast Sandwich and a cappuccino, and I loved it

The waitstaff is attentive enough, and the service is very good

I look forward to trying other things on the menu

I enjoyed an outstanding breakfast with a dear friend (pictured), and was delighted to see Allanna, and James, two of the most lovely people I remember from when I worked there about a year and a half ago, I would come in here for a breakfast croissant, and they are so amazing in service and kindness and authenticity, it’s such a lovely place and evokes Earnest Hemingway’s “A Moveable Feast (a classy touch with coffee served in a small pot and you pour into a very Paris-style bowl which, today with 27° weather, you can put both hands around it to warm your fingers).

The food is outstanding. (All of the prices have gone up since a year and a half ago, thanks to the price of eggs, oh thank you Mr. President, for lowering the price of everything by the way, NOT!).

I can’t recommend this place highly enough, and these two people are just lovely. They’re from the longtime crew that are still here.

Thank you, Allanna, and James, for your warmth, on this very chilly day, as the Mummers’s Day Parade is going on is happening, parade, which is very “interesting” to me, no judgment, those who love it, right on!

Happy New Year 2026!

I really like this place so many food options and great quality. This branch in particular had only one server for the whole store which made the service a bit slow, but the server was very friendly and gave us heads up.. The only reason I gave four stars was that the tables are not super clean and the shared containers of jam were not well placed. Their new menu is amazing.

The Belgian mocha was great! The Belgian waffle may have been smaller than we expected, but it was delicious.

The butternut squash soup and chicken mozzarella melt were amazing!

The waitress was kind and quick. She also quickly corrected a mistake.

Decided to stop in here for a fast breakfast before jetting off to another appointment I had in the area. I got a ham and Gruyere croissant, and it came with a side salad and a trio of mustard sauces. I didn’t touch the salad, but the croissant was delicious! The Gruyere was perfectly melted and went well with the ham, which tasted like it had hints of honey in it. The plain croissant was also amazing and perfectly cooked. A crispy outside while having a fluffy inside, while having just enough butter to give it that classic flavor without being greasy! Perfection! It did take a hot minute for our waiter to come and get our order, but once the order was put it, we got it fairly quickly. The restaurant is very open and airy, and I liked that there were options for indoor and outdoor seating.

Yum! A great breakfast without the feel of a full dinning restaurant. This place features a cafe with seating or a larger menu with a server. Open seating. Loved the quiche, the Belgium pancakes, the sandwiches, the cookies were amazing!!!!! My skillet was delish but very small portion compared to the other items. We came two days in a row. The service was good, we had a couple interesting interactions were staff were outwardly frustrated with us over seating or asking for items. But for the most part the service was great.

What a lovely surprise! Coming in from NJ we visit this neighborhood periodically, and have previously stopped in for lunch a bar / burger spot further up Walnut Street. Today we were in the mood for something more like breakfast fare and tried out Le Pain Quotidien. So glad we did!

The place is charming. When you first walk in you can place a to go order at the registers. But if you ask to be seated, you’ll be taken into the dining room and be greeted with a setting worthy of a European cafe. The menu choices are excellent for light fare, and the aroma of freshly baked bread is in the air as you consider your choices. One of us wound up with the mini pancakes — and these are perhaps 2-inches in diameter, with a healthy portion on a plate with banana slices nestled in between. These were excellent – good texture and flavor. I tried the smoked salmon tartine, which turned out to be a remarkably generous portion that came with a dish of a mildly tangy aioli perfect to dip the open faced sandwich in between bites. The lattes were served in giant bowl-like handle-less mugs, and were good – although I prefer a bit more of a bold espresso taste coming through.

The service was delightful! We had the attention of two servers throughout the meal, and they apparently had the routine and division of labor down perfectly as they seemed 100% coordinated. Service was fast, the menu choices fully explained, our servers checked in on us during the meal but weren’t intrusive or overbearing. The food was great and the setting comfortable. We’ll definitely be stopping in again next time we’re in the neighborhood.

We were staying at a hotel close by, but preferred this for breakfast. The staff made us feel very welcome and the breakfast was good. I had the almond croissants, my wife toasted gluten-free bread, and my grown-up son a mix of different breakfasts. A special shout-out to James who made us feel very at home every morning.
