The food flavors are average at best. Quantity is low for what you had to pay for it. Vietnamese flavors are missing fish sauce and more developed spicy flavors.
The atmosphere is clean. The service is OK not talkative. not super friendly yet responsive. No one needed to come fill water so after bringing the food there really wasn’t much attention on our table of six. they were able to give us individual checks which we appreciated.
It’s a white tablecloth dining experience so you’re expecting a little bit of a higher class the food, service and overall dining experience which is not prevalent the evening we came.
Parking is going to be on the street or around the corner of the parking lot however I don’t think it’d be too difficult in downtown Moline unless there’s a big conference going on.
I’d rather have pizza at Tony’s down the road.
Note my rating system:
1 Star: I wouldn’t recommend
2 Stars: Didn’t hit my standards
3 Stars: Average (nothing special)
4 Stars: Above Average. Would recommend. Still looking for the 5 Star.
5 Stars: Top of their game. Great food. Great service. Would recommend and plan on returning.
Tony is fantastic and kind. I will be back!
Edit: I was able to make it into town again last night and stopped again. Just as good as it was the first time.
Suggested by Google Maps according to our dining history.
This was an absolutely delicious meal and experience!
We started with a steaming pot of Black Almond tea. Followed by the Royal Egg Rolls and Chicken and vegetable dumplings.
Our entrees included the #42 Spicy Chicken and #62 Shrimp and deluxe vegetable. Both included Jasmine rice.
Our waiter is also the owner. He was very attentive and very charming. This restaurant is a premiere establishment and a MUST for the foodie in you!
Definitely a nice place to go if you’re celebrating something or wanting to go somewhere nice.
(Also saw a harsh review where lady said she paid 100+?for just her and her husband?)
I was there on my birthday with 3 other people and it was less than 25-30 a person.
People lying for no reason lol.
Eggrolls and rangoon were big hit as well as mains (ran the gambit on mains).
We were so excited to try it – and we never got to eat main dishes. After being seated, we waited a while for a server to come take our order, after we put the order in we waited, and waited, and waited. We saw food come out to 3 tables that had come in after us. I finally flagged the waiter down and told him we had a time limit, and asked about our food. Finally, our appetizers came out (1 at a time, not all 3 together) and one of them was cold.
And then we waited, and waited. We finally had to pay for the apps and leave to be somewhere – we never got our meals. When I told him we had to go – I’m quite sure he directed the kitchen not to make our food – so it wasn’t even close to ready.
The only explanation I got at the register was “the kitchen was backed up” but that doesn’t explain other tables getting their food first. No real apologies, no explanation, nothing to make it right. For food that isn’t my favorite, I will often give second tries. For service this bad – we absolutely will NOT be back.
Now, in 2023, the portion size has decreased, almost about half (at least for take out. I can’t comment on the dine in), and the prices have gone up slightly. The food still tastes pretty darn good, though, and you can tell a lot of things are made from hand, like the sweet & sour sauce (best I’ve ever had). The item in the picture came like this and cost $17.95.
