I finally tried this bakery cafe. Amazing. We visited ten minutes after they opened. The woman working asked us to be patient as they just opened. I replied “of course”. She was very friendly and service was prompt. I had read other reviews stating the opposite so I was mentally prepared. Food was incredible. The French toast was the best I’ve had. We also had something like an almond bake in a pan that I couldn’t pronounce. Also incredible. Latte was perfect. We will definitely return.

Le Marais Bakery in Mill Valley lands at about 3.5 out of 5 for me. The interior and exterior ambiance are both really pleasant and make it a nice place to sit and enjoy a pastry. The almond croissant was the highlight since it had great flakiness and flavor. The downside was the slower service, which made the visit feel a bit drawn out. I also noticed a few flies around the food area, which took away from the experience. Overall, it has potential and some strong points, but there are a few things that could be improved.

Good: The croissant was divine. More fatty (in a wonderful way) than most I’ve had. On the less-done side. Butter lingers in your mouth after each bite. Slightly acidic like sourdough. The steak au poivre was actually great too. Tender and more like a hangar steak than a skirt/flank steak.
meh: the chocolat chaud was underwhelming. Not great quality chocolate. The nicoise salad was also not the best. Normally it is more than the sum of its parts, but this one was too lettucy.
Worth going back for sure.

Service is friendly )and with a French accent), the ambience is quite nice and the food is excellent. Today I ordered the Tuna Nicoise which tasted fantastic- only thing missing was capers but great nonetheless.
We ordered an almond & chocolate croissant to share & have with our lattes. Both were yummy but the almond was my favorite. And the prices are extremely reasonable too!

Le Marais Bakery delivers an exceptional dining experience, combining a cozy, French-inspired atmosphere with outstanding service. The staff’s customer care is impeccable—friendly, attentive, and highly focused on making sure you enjoy your time there. I had the avocado toast, which was fresh and perfectly seasoned, but the highlight was the lobster Benedict. They creatively substituted lobster for crab meat, and the dish turned out phenomenal. Every detail was carefully considered, making this a five-star experience. I highly recommend Le Marais Bakery—you will not be disappointed!

A great weekend morning, my sister and I had coffee and breakfast together.
The atmosphere here is very pleasant, pets are allowed to be “cute” here. My noodles were delicious and my sister’s burger was also delicious.
I will come back here on days when I want to relax after a tiring week of work because the space, staff, drinks and food are all very good.

I have lived in Mill Valley for 3+ years and this is now my favorite dinner spot – and I’ve tried them all.
Best burger I’ve had in years, maybe ever, and I’ve had my fair share in my life. Scallops dish incredible. French onion soup delicious.

First time eating at the restaurant but I ordered take out a few times before.
The ambiance is a bit noisy for my taste. Long wait to order. Ordering feels a bit rushed. The food is delicious and it is no doubt about it. The staff was nice and the food was prepared in a good amount of time.

Update: Your website allowed the order to be placed, I even called to make sure I was ordering it properly. Totally understand that somehow the order was still not able to be processed due to holiday schedule though we were visiting and had planned around the order.
It’s how you talk and interact with people that’s the issue. And no, I didn’t say what your response accused. What are you even talking about? I’m from out of state, of course your bakery won’t know who I am besides a client who tried to spend money there. And I’ve only interacted with one person there throughout this ordering experience via phone, a woman with a French accent, so how was I “abusing” your staff?!
Clearly I’m not the only review addressing rude experiences and treatment at the bakery. Instead of taking ownership and perhaps improving, this is the response and it’s very telling. No croissant, no matter the size, is worth this hassle and drama. Have a great day!
