I’m a huge fan of choux cream, so I was really excited when I saw this shop. The store has a simple, minimalist design and focuses only on choux cream, with a variety of fillings to choose from. I picked the original matcha cream, which was quite good and not too sweet. Next time, I think I’ll try the vanilla flavor. The service was great—the staff was friendly and able to answer my questions clearly. I totally forgot to take a photo of the choux cream before eating it—I was craving something sweet a little too much!

growing up, my family would get 6 creampuffs to go in sf from bearded papa. the quality has gone bad, but we came across la la choux while shopping at the center and was surprised by the super cute presentation of the desserts! we got 6 to take home and we were super surprised by the great quality and taste of the choux. super similar to how we remembered peak bearded papa days 🙂 we want to go back soon, the choux we had were super yummy

owner (or manager?) was really kind and let us sample the original flavor. told us a lot about their menu and how they make only a limited batch of each flavor in the morning to maintain its freshness. next time, we are excited to try the flavors that have sold out for the day.

our favorites were the banana cream choux, the cookies n cream choux, and the limited pandan coconut cream choux

Great service. Male cashier let us try samples. Sister and I got the canelé cream puff, that had whipped cream, custard inside the puff, canelé that had a tiny taste of rum in it, and a blueberry and 2 raspberries on top

The mango mango was good too, with mango cream on top and even mango filling

There use to be Pate E Choux in Tanforan, but thats been closed for a while. I believe that these might be the same owners? I recognize one of the lady workers there too. Serramonte is much better for business, and hopefully this place can last long for a while

No tables inside, but theres plenty of seating outside, or in the food court area

We walked in to see and were immediately greeted by the baker and a few samples. After being blown away by how tasty they are we decided to buy 4. The matcha one I had myself was even better than the sample which is a lot to say. I enjoyed it so much I forgot to take a picture so the other two remaining is all I have. Will definitely be back a lot

First time trying their choux and overall I do like it. Reminds me of the ones I had in Japan. It’s not overly sweet which is great. Tried matcha, sesame, tiramisu and strawberry. Loved all the flavors! My only complaint is the matcha and sesame cream puff was less than half filled. Not sure if it was a one off. I will go back for sure at least for the special flavors but not sure if I want to pay $5 for a less than half filled cream puff.

My partner and I stopped by here after dinner at a restaurant in the mall. The person helping us behind the counter was very welcoming and offered samples for us to try since it was our first time there. Looks like most of their pre-made pastries were sold out by dinner time, which is a good sign IMO. Everything we got was delicious and we’ll definitely be back.

My second time here and it is no longer a soft opening, and they have quite a few options to choose from.

This time,  I tried some new flavors they had:

1.  S’mores – I saved this for last because I had high expectations.  Sadly, this was my least favorite.  It was a dark chocolate mousse filling.  The topping looked cute, but that was about it.

2.  Nutella latte – The wafer on top was stale, to be expected.  When I cut it in the middle, I was surprised to see another wafer.  Sadly, this was stale as well.  The filling definitely tasted like a coffee latte.  I was a little disappointed,  I did not get a hint of nutella.

3.  Puff cake – The owner told me this had cake inside.   I think I stopped listening when he said it had cake inside. I was surprised when I cut it in the middle. It looked amazing.  When you bite into it, it was fluffy and light like a cloud.   The fruits on top were so refreshing.  This was hands down my favorite.

Once again, another great experience.   I highly recommend you give it a try.

So happy to see on my visit to Serramonte that this place is finally open!!  We don’t have many choux (pâte à choux, cream puff pastry) locations so this is definitely a treat to have.  They had their soft opening during the long weekend that just passed.
The store itself is cute and small.  Mostly enough space to see what’s on the menu, what’s in the display case, and patiently wait in line.  The decorations are cute and I especially loved the mini telephone booth.
There was a line when we first walked in the mall and decided we’d check it out after we got food at the food court.  It was perfect timing because there was no line.  They had a really good selection to choose from.  I of course had to get one of each, to be able to give a full review.

I ordered:

1.  Crème Strawberry – Strawberries on top were fresh and tart.   I was surprised when I cut it in the middle it had a strawberry jam along with the crème in the middle.  It gave it a refreshing taste so it wasn’t all crème.

2.  Mango –  When I first walked in,  I knew I was already getting this since I love mangoes.   The mango on top was fresh, crunchy, sweet, and tart.  Just likely the perfect mango that isn’t over ripe.  I liked the mango jam or filling it had inside with the mango crème.  I also, liked that it was semi hollow in the middle.

3.  Oreo crème – I love the beautifully decorated cookie on top.   When you cut it in the middle it has the crème and a custard kind of filling.

4.  Tiramisu –  I wasn’t sure if it was a wafer cookie on top or white chocolate.   It was a fresh crunchy cookie.  I liked that prior to putting it in the box,  he put a light dusting of cocoa powder.  It was light and creamy not too coffee flavored.  It was perfect in every bite.

5.  Piping hot and fresh canele –  I was instructed to wait 20 to 30 minutes prior to eating.   I reassured him don’t worry,  I’ll eat the pastries when I get home.   I’ve never had a canele before so I wasn’t sure what to expect.  When I was cutting in it in the middle the outer shell was hard but inside the filling looked moist.  I loved it because the outer shell reminded me of eating the edges of home made brownies and cakes.  It was crunchy but kind of melts in your mouth.  It was kind of like a bread pudding in the middle.   It was delicious.

All the pastries I tasted were amazing.  They had a crispy outer shell that had a light filling on the inside.   It was perfectly balanced and not overly sweet.   I liked that the pâte à choux wasn’t overly filled so it didn’t get soggy like.
Service here was amazing.  I loved the attention to detail with the pastries amd the care they have with placing it in the box.   The gentleman who helped me told me all the pastries were made fresh this morning.   You can definitely taste it.
I highly recommend everyone to stop by.   I can’t wait to come back and try the cold brew fruit tea and the wonderful variety flavors they have next time.

Great service, friendly and informative. The puff pastry is crispy and the cream is not too sweet. It’s delicious! The location is a little hard to find, but it’s worth the time.

I love the blue berry one

The daily special flavors ( Oreo, mango, strawberry, banana brulee, tirmi Choux) are so vibrant in color that it lures you in. They have a weekly flavor that goes on rotation and this week, it is a black sesame custard. Their puffs are a bit on the small side, and I know everyone enjoys the filling, but it’s a bit much for me. Once I finish the puff pastry, I always have a bunch of cream spilled over. The shelled puffs is crunchy, yet soft and the filling is light, creamy and wonderful. I was able to try their canele today and it has a caramelized crust with a rum/vanilla flavored custard filling. The inside is moist with an aromatic crunch on the outside and they only make 20 a day! The outside was a bit difficult to bite into though. The man prepping our pastries was super friendly and he was so passionate when he was explaining all the flavors, and the history of the canele.

The choux shell is freshly made and will be filled with cream on demand with different flavors. I got the match one. I also sampled the vanilla flavored one. Super delicious with tea vanilla seed visible. Sweetness is moderate and the texture is very light.

Amazing! Strongly recommend!
