Dim Sum Heaven: Le Fu – GOOD FOOD MEXICO

It’s a three-story Chinese restaurant set in the middle of what has become our “real” Chinatown, the nondescript colonia Viaducto Piedad, south of the centro.

We got there around 2:00 pm on a Monday. The place was empty. We ordered the sweet and sour chicken, the ribs, and the honey pork. Prices are not cheap.

We received the chicken. Upon having a bite, my piece was cold frozen. We promptly returned the dish, canceled the entire order and left. Nothing to expect from a place that microwaves frozen battered chicken.

Excellent dim sum, reasonable prices. We loved the chive dumplings & the meatballs. The chili oil is amazing & quite spicy. Pick what you want & they bring it to the table. Highly recommended!

The food is good and authentic, as is with most Chinese restaurants hygiene is a huge area of improvement. The duck and the egg tart are must try items.

Pretty solid place if you’re craving authentic Chinese food! We had the chili fish (水煮鱼) and it’s pretty yummy. The veggie was solid too.

It’s my favorite authentic chinese restaurant in CDMX! I eat here every week, the service is good, and the food and dim sum are really delicious! 🙂

Dim sum is not easy to find in cdmx, so definitely pleasantly surprised.

While the environment is nothing fancy, overall the food is good.

I enjoyed the 韭菜煎饺 (fried chive dumplings), 虾饺 (shrimp dumplings), and 奶黄包 (steamed custard buns). The lotus soup & 叉烧包 (bbq pork buns) were decent as well. Special mention to the tasty chili oil on the table

Misses: The soy milk was too sweet for my liking, the egg tart was meh, and the braised beef and daikon was too salty. A lot of the dishes were precooked and served cold (e.g. fried chive dumplings, soy milk) which was a bummer.

Not entirely sure but probably cash only.

Not impressed with this. Food was bland. I went with three people, one Malaysian, one Mexican from LA, and me, a world traveler from NYC area. None of us thought it compared to even a mediocre Cantonese restaurant in America, let alone Asia. I’m not sure why the ratings are so high. They need more flavor. Aromatics, salty things, some spice. There weren’t even condiments on the table. Spring rolls were not homemade and came frozen from a plastic package

I would not recommend this to anyone who is used to actual Cantonese food, whether from Hong Kong, Malaysia, NYC, Oakland, or LA. It just doesn’t hold up

The food was incredible and authentic, finding genuine dim sum in Mexico is not an easy task so I’m very glad to have stumbled with this restaurant. the ha gao were really good, the pork and mushroom were also so so good and I got some cha siu baos to go.

The place where its at is not the prettiest or safest but it’s calm in the morning. The dim sum runs from opening till 2-3 pm depending on the people they get, from then on it’s the regular menu.

The staff were very kind and explained what all the dishes were as I didn’t understand.
