Coming from a Vietnamese background, I was initially skeptical, as the dishes did not reflect what one would traditionally expect from Vietnamese cuisine. That said, the craftsmanship behind the menu deserves genuine praise. The seamless blending of cuisines was elegant and intentional, creating a fusion experience that felt refined, modern, and surprisingly enlightening.

From the moment we arrived, the experience was excellent. The atmosphere was cozy and the service, truly unique: attentive, friendly and always with a smile.

The food was simply delicious, each dish better than the last, with flavors that surprised in every bite. You could notice the care in every detail of the presentation and the quality of the ingredients.

A detail that made the evening even more special was that the chef himself came to our table to greet us and make sure we were enjoying the experience. That gesture of closeness and passion for what he does made all the difference.

Undoubtedly, a place I would return to a thousand times. Totally recommended!

I gave my server, Cameron, a challenge.
“Imagine your brother is about to serve 12 months in prison. He’ll get three hot dogs a day and one piece of lettuce at lunch and dinner. What three dishes would you want him to eat as his last real meal for a year?”

And because I don’t drink at business dinners, I added:
“His cellmate is a giant gangster. Your brother’s safety depends entirely on how good this mocktail is.”

Cameron took it in stride and delivered like a pro:
Tuna Tartare, Signature Crispy Red Snapper, Signature Fried Rice, and the Saigon Mint Colada (mocktail).

The Tuna Tartare – I’m from Hawaii and live in LA. I’ve had every tartare under the sun, and this one? Pure magic. Whatever chili-sesame-garlic spell they cast belongs in a museum. Easily top 2 of my life.

The Signature Crispy Red Snapper – Perfectly crisp outside, flaky inside, and cooked to absolute perfection.

The Signature Fried Rice – A total surprise. The Vietnamese pork sausage can be tricky to balance, but they nailed it. I threw portion control out the window and went all in.

The Chilled Vegetable Roll – Their peanut sauce, with a hint of sambal chili, takes this classic to a new level.

The Saigon Mint Colada (Mocktail) – Refreshing, minty, perfectly balanced. My only complaint? I didn’t get enough.

Final Verdict:
Le Colonial is the kind of restaurant that makes you rethink moving cities—it’s that good. Incredible food, thoughtful staff, and a dining experience that’s equal parts elegant and fun.

Oh, and for the record: Cameron’s brother (and all his crevasses) is safe for the next 12 months.

I came here for Valentines Day 2026 with my wife. Had a reservation at 8:30 and was seated around 8:50. It took another 10 minutes to order a drink that took 20 minutes to arrive at out table because the bar was backed up (nice substitute for the word understaffed)

For Valentines day the menu consisted of 4 choices of appetizers, 4 choices of entrees and 2 options for dessert. From the get go the waitress told us one of the desserts was finished (great start) so that narrowed it to literally whatever they want to give you.

After placing the order for the entrees (we both went for steak, since only 1 option out the 4 was steak)the waitress came back to out table to inform us that only 1 of us could have steak because they ran out. So for Valentine’s day 1 of us had to eat something they did not want and because the menu was also extremely limited, there was not even an illusion of choice.

We complained to her because essentially we drove 40 minutes and paid $300 for a meal we didn’t even want, when I made the reservation, it stated the menu, but out of the 10 dishes in total, the 2 most popular ones were gone.

The manager came out to rather unapologetic, making it seem as if it’s normal that for Valentines they run out of food and then left to not come back. If you run out of food for Valentines it just means you didn’t prepare right, and if you didn’t prepare right, you shouldn’t make as much money as if you had prepared well.

No complimentary anything was given to us, and on top of that, a couple that arrived 20 minutes after us did get 2 steaks.

I paid $400 for a meal with my wife that she did not enjoy. If you don’t keep up your end of the deal, I shouldn’t either.

I will send this review straight to American Express along with a charge dispute and see if they are happy with you not keeping up your Valentine’s day menu.

I was genuinely excited to return here for Valentine’s Day after discovering this restaurant earlier in the week and loving it. Unfortunately, our holiday experience was extremely disappointing.

Shortly after our drinks were delivered, a glass of champagne was spilled from the server’s tray, soaking both me and my boyfriend, as well as our table. While I understand that accidents happen, no manager ever came by to acknowledge or apologize for the incident. We remained in wet clothing throughout dinner, were not offered a new table, and the drinks were not removed from the bill. There was also no offer to assist with dry cleaning.

We were also never informed when making our reservation that the evening would be a $125 prix fixe menu. That lack of transparency was frustrating from the start. For that price point, the value felt limited. My tuna tartare was listed as gluten-free but arrived missing the caviar component, and there was no gluten-free dessert option available. Additionally, one dessert option ran out, so some guests were not given a choice — which is disappointing for a fixed-price holiday menu.

What has been most disappointing, however, is the complete lack of follow-up. I reached out directly to the restaurant to allow the opportunity to address this privately and professionally, but after more than a week, I have received no response.

Because of this experience and the absence of communication, I will not be returning and cannot recommend this restaurant to others. Valentine’s Day is a meaningful occasion, and unfortunately, this evening fell far short of expectations.

Le Colonial is a fabulous restaurant in Delray Beach on the corner of 6th and Atlantic. Valet parking is available on 7th Ave or you can park on the street. I’ve been there for birthday celebrations. We had our rehearsal dinner there and it was a huge success. They have a private room for 12 inside as well as a lovely outside. Dana Armon and Isabella, the manager were extremely accommodating as our group had 15 people. Two tables were near each other and I hand-picked a special menu. Any and every dish can be customized for spiciness, vegan, vegetarian or to accommodate allergies. Luca, our server was top notch. Whatever your reason, for a special occasion or because you are a foodie, this is THE most wonderful restaurant. Portions are good-sized, the food comes out piping hot and as I mentioned earlier everything is sensational. Some of the best dishes I’ve had that need mentioning are the BBQ ribs, the Lotus salad, the Salmon and the chicken in the clay pot. Everything on the menu is worth ordering and can be customized to suit your taste. I can’t recommend this restaurant any higher. I doubt anyone would be disappointed with the food or drinks.

I have eaten at this restaurant since they opened. I live literally across the street and I find it convenient. The atmosphere is good and it is aesthetically beautiful. However, Delray being the wonderful dog place that it is I showed up last night with my dog, which I’ve done 50 times before maybe more. I was encountered by this young woman by the name of Isabella and when I asked her for water for my dog when I was getting ready to order she says we don’t do that we can’t give your dog water!. Now every time I’ve eaten there I’ve been met with Grace and people have been kind and Goldie is a love and sweet, friendly dog. However, this woman boarded on being nasty and rude and has prompted me to write this review and it’s something that it typically would never do. But the experience was so negative she was nasty to me and answered me in that manner in which it just got up the hair on my back. I told her to forget the order I got up and left with my dog. This is more about a heads up of how a restaurant can go from being wonderful and friendly and accommodating to being spoiled, by one individual who said that she was the restaurant manager, I hope this finds its way to be appropriate person at the top and they do whatever it has to be done to address Isabella’s people skills or terminate her. I have seen my share of managers come and go and expect she will will be soon gone. Thanks for the opportunity to share me experience.

We have been dining here since they opened. It started out fantastic. Good food and even better service. Each time since, both food and service declined. Last night was bad enough to write this. It started when walked in around 7:30. The bar was full so we asked the host about a table. We have no tables, we were told. He didn’t say 10, 20 minutes, just said no tables. We went to bar and sat at a couch to wait for a seat at the bar to open. We ordered a drink and told the young lady if a seat opens at bar we would be moving. As soon as our drinks came seats opened at the bar. We asked for the check and immediately got attitude from the server. I said don’t worry we will tip you. That’s all she seemed concerned about. We were there to eat dinner and have some drinks. We ordered our drinks and our meals at the bar, only after asking the bartender for menus, set up, etc. 30 minutes pass and no food. We inquire and our meals immediately show up. Not once did either bartender ask if we needed another drink, more water, how is everything, can I get you something, nothing. After we finished our meals, the plates sat as yet again no one came over. When we finally asked for our check I said it would have been nice for you to check on us 1 time, to which she replied “you could have flagged me down”. This is not how good restaurants operate. Obviously very poor management that reflects on every employee we encountered, it’s noticeable as the couple sitting next to us said the same thing.
