Great ambience, excellent service, and wonderful food. The quality of our dishes was far above anything offered in the area and is a welcome addition to the community. The cuisine of Lyon and Alsatian dishes were delicious and well done. The chocolate soufflé was worth the wait! We will absolutely be returning…with friends!

Fantastic dining experience from start to finish. I was a little disappointed to arrive at another “strip mall” type dining location in Charlotte, but once inside, we were transported to a classic French environment that was approachable with our 7-year-old (we dined at 5:30). Our server was outstanding and full of personality which made for a fun and delicious evening! The food was wonderful and the menu is priced well for serving size and quality of food; you will not leave feeling hungry!

What a delightful evening! We were specially invited back to Le Cochon D’Or this past week following an earlier review I posted. The hospitality was superb and the meal was most delicious. Patrick, the owner, was so very kind and gracious to us and we appreciate that greatly. The live music was the icing on the cake. Thank you for a lovely experience! Rose

We are from Charleston food mecca
Our experience Saturday night was superb from start to finish. What a delight for our picky palates
Sometimes you leave regretting having to pay for a meal not here
I wanted to keep eating
We ordered several appetizers
The bread was perfection
The cocktails excellent
The diver scallops and asparagus risotto couldn’t have been better.
Service from our pretty hostess on through just a complete delight
I can’t wait to return
Loving the Charlotte and surrounding area food scene
Look out Charleston you’ve got nothing on Charlotte

All the dishes are well prepared, taste great, and well presented. The atmosphere inside is pleasant, and the staff is courteous and provides a great service. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for great meal. The restaurant definitely earned a five star rating.

This French restaurant is amazing. At the time of writing Le Cochon D’Or (French for Golden Pig) has only been open for 7 weeks. Fanatic place for a romantic date and the French cuisine was wonderful. Note : if you’re looking for low fat, low cholesterol fare this is not the place to be. From its deliciously high fat whipped butter for your wonderfully crisp French bread, to their amazing mussels with French fries, or their wonderfully tasty butchers block of European meats and chicken liver (which was very very good), my date and I were delighted with wonderful dish after dish. From the same owner as Provence in Charlotte, the owner, Patrick, is originally from Lyon, France and succeeded in bringing a true spirit of French cuisine to Charlotte/Waxhaw while being accessible to American tastes. Bravo to the culinary team at Le Couchon D’Or!

If I could give 10 stars I would! I absolutely love this place. The food is AMAZING, the service is FIRST CLASS (Anna was our waitress), and the atmosphere is BEAUTIFUL. I can’t wait to go back and try more items on the menu.

Little France in North Carolina! A very cute restaurant in the southern suburbs of Charlotte. The cuisine is real French, even the bread taste like it was made in a bakery in Lyon (or similar). Give it a try, enjoy a French evening without going overseas.

I was so sad when our favorite French restaurant closed, and was on the hunt for a new one to fill the void. Let me tell you… hands down best French restaurant around (and we have been to a lot considering my husband is French Canadian). Service is perfection! You’ll feel like a local no matter where you are from. The live French musician sets the ambiance (he’s there Wed/Th). The food: AMAZING! We had the smoked salmon/ beet app, lamb chops (with the best ratitouille I’ve ever eaten) and the duck breast. Also, don’t need skip dessert or you will regret it! The chocolate soufflé with cream anglaise… all I can say is I was a little embarrassed with the Mmmm sounds I was making in public. Great job! So happy to have found “our place.” Even if you don’t live in Waxhaw… trust me… It’s worth the drive. Merci!
