Disappointing experience. Only two cocktails were available, and the one I tried was bad. For a wine bar, offering just three red wines by the glass, and having them be watery and poor quality is unacceptable. The music is excessively loud, making conversation difficult. The owner/manager was rude, smug, and dismissive when I asked about food options. Not many good food options available. Definitely would not go back.

We came to Good King Tavern an hour before our res because we are a couple psychopaths, and they said they couldn’t seat us but have a cute wine bar upstairs if we wanted to kill some time. Reasonable.

We walked upstairs into the cutest little dimly lit romantic wine bar I’ve ever seen. That was a lot of descriptors, but I felt them in my soul.

We ordered a bottle of Pinot Noir and got a side of fries ($5) and pickles ($5), as there is no better date night than wine and fries. One of the most underrated combinations in the food game. They are oddly reminiscent of Brandon Roy and Lamarcus Aldridge, just so underappreciated.

We sat there, watching the USC and Florida football games on our respective phones between sips of Pinot Noir and bites of these phenomenal fries. These Good King Tavern fries are my favorite I’ve had in Philly.

Both of our teams suck this year, but both won that night. HUGE! Le Caveau delivering miracles…

Food was great, wine was incredible! Lots of options to choose from. Personally, I would skip the hot dog on the menu but everything else was sooo good!

Bartender was pushing me to drink one wine, rather than ask me what type of wine I like? Come to find the most expensive one. Which wasn’t what I wanted . $24 for one glass? I’m never coming back here again. Ask your customers what type of wine do you like? Don’t just try to upsell the most expensive wine.

Side door entrance up a flight of stairs to a super chill wine bar that sits above its parent The Good King Tavern. Enthusiastic bartenders with solid recommendations. The only negative for this being a wine bar is, despite the rather robust wine bottle list, the selection of wine by the glass is limiting. Just 7 total.

Loved the vibe, but we weren’t impressed with the service or wine selection. We had to ask for the bottle list, which was small for a wine bar. Sat at the bar and they didn’t pour anything other than the first glass.
Also, someone needs to go in with a screwdriver… everything from the bar stools to the sink, faucet and doorknobs, needs a good tightening

Had a delightful time at Le Caveau. Visited after trying out a nearby restaurant and came away very impressed. Great service, good wines, and shockingly delicious food.

This is one of our favorite wine bars in the city and reminds me of many of a speakeasy you’d find in NYC. They have specially sourced wines, many of them French along with great cocktails and some beers. They have some snacks but not a full menu. It’s good for date nights or large groups, as they have some larger seating areas and shuffleboard. Super fun and incredible ambiance!

One of my favorite wine bars ever anywhere! Expansive and astounding selection of old world French wine from mostly “boutique” producers. (while they also carry many other selections from other parts of Europe such as Italy and Switzerland). They always have something interesting and noteworthy on rotation. Not to mention the food and the service are equally excellent to boot. A must visit you’re a wine lover and if you’re ever in the area!

Cozy, delightful, and buzzing. I love the warm, candlelit atmosphere and often end up spending hours here enjoying delicious small bites and sharing a well priced bottle with pals. Also feel like a cartoon following the scent of warm baguettes and hot dogs offered at later hours – a true Philly gem. Shout out to the attentive staff whose recommendations are always on point. Highly recommend popping in for any of their events !
