Laugh-out-loud delicious dinner at this groovy bistro. Michelin recommended but no online reservations. So, the crowd was largely local. Lots of hugs and kisses and two dogs. My meal was tuna sashimi and panfried, breaded swordfish with mashed potatoes and pumpkin. Also, only all-natural wines. Unusual and delicious. I ended with a local digestif, strong and floral, like Chartreuse but more subtle, genepi.

Had a really great dining experience here! Loved the handwritten menu and waiter did an amazing job explaining everything. The wine selection matched the dishes.
The food was delicious with some local ingredients. Definitely worth a visit!

We loved the ‘homey’ vibe of this restaurant and they serve high quality ingredients. Nonetheless, the dishes served were a little underwhelming. Thought the beef and anchovies combo was off.

The experience was good, though I had hoped for great based on the reviews. The menu is creative and built around local ingredients, with several interesting options. Unfortunately, the starters fell short – the croquette was undercooked and the courgette farcie lacked flavor. The mains were better: the beef was excellent, though the panzanella with the tuna tasted a bit tired. Service could use improvement; it was hard to get the waiter’s attention, and some basics (like a spoon for the courgette) were missing. While the wines were lovely, the overall value didn’t match the price – 35–37 euros for rustic mains that missed the mark in execution and taste made the meal feel overpriced.

On our first night in Nice we came to the Le Canon restaurant by chance because it was very close to our hotel. Red Formica tables and grandmother’s cutlery. The menu is written in chalk on a blackboard and the waiter explained it patiently. The dishes are made from local produce and the wine is natural wine. The atmosphere is pleasant. The food was absolutely wonderful. On our last night in Nice we booked a table in advance because we decided to come back to celebrate and enjoy this wonderful place. We also bought a bottle of natural wine to take home so that the pleasure would last longer.

Appetizer of sashimi was delicious, but the main dish was not what I was expecting. I believe they ran out of the original cut that was on the menu and tried to pass off a lesser cut without letting us know. It was also plated in an extremely unappealing fashion. The staff were friendly but the service took far too long. 2 hours for 2 dishes.

Showed up with an 8pm reservation for 2.
Restaurant was cramped in an aesthetically pleasing kind of way. The menu was hand written on a chalkboard, that was placed in front of our table. We ordered pork chop with gnocchi.
The did had potential but missed the mark. No key flavour to be had. A little bland. I added salt and the dish tasted much better.
The service was satisfactory.
Overall was a decent dinning experience.

Best meal I’ve had in a long time. The wine selection is unreal. When I asked for a suggestion the server told me to go check their cellar. Fun, interesting sauce+protein combinations without being annoying. And they do it with such a small staff. Incredible threadbare operation with impeccable taste.
