Restaurants in French Guiana do not rely on tourism to be successful as there are simply not enough tourists here. So they can only strive on quality and consistency. Having said that, there are many very good restaurants here but Boeuf au Jardin is definitely my favorite for evenings. The cuisine is mainly French with a local twist. My favorite is the foie gras oeuf mollet for starters and filet de loubine for the main dish. The is a daily menu presented to you at the table along with a more complete menu a la carte. The staff is friendly even when they are busy which is all the time! Making a reservation is a must. There are 2 main sections. Indoors with air conditioning (my favorite) and a large outdoor area which is lovely. Prices are totally reasonable for such a high quality meal. I highly recommend this upscale restaurant run by husband, the chef and wife the hostess.
